Changing back to child Link to go in the Shadow Temple, retrieve the Lens of Truth as a child in the darkest area of the game, basically meaning you realise that even in your idyllic childhood there was always dark stuff lurking beneath the surface that you just didn't see. The lens of truth. The character arc and classical hero's journey, the sense of adventure, the cut scenes, the music, the pure unfiltered SOVL. No other game comes close. Simple as. Don't take my word for it. It is the highest rated video game of all time, after all.

You will never have a game that encapsulates and mirrors being a kid and growing up with all the good and bad like OoT did back then. It was a perfect time for a perfect game. It's much deeper than the Metacritic score or any one gameplay element or whatever, although the score is well deserved.
