I died at 25 as a poor man with nothing to my name, the obituary states I was a curious, rational being, but was ultimately disjoint with the world. I failed to achieve and I did not do anything of note in my final days. I will die again when I am 40, 60. But the young years are never relived.

I would go live in the wilderness because modern life does not afford pleasure, and I would want to have fun.

I wonder to what extent they'll be able to edit files and archived content. Honestly I'm surprised wikipedia or anything still connected to the internet really is even slightly functional. But I don't really know how computers work.

Still not entirely convinced the infrastructure will actually make it much further though. My previous prediction of the world just running out of computer parts before any of these questions are answered isn't feeling too unreasonable right now. We might not even get another console generation at this rate, let alone personal robot companions for the masses.

>I wonder to what extent they'll be able to edit files and archived content. Honestly I'm surprised wikipedia or anything still connected to the internet really is even slightly functional
I'm sure some would argue that it's not.
Well, as a general rule, people do things because they want to do them, and they don't do things that they'd otherwise want to do because it takes too much effort.
Generationally speaking, this has changed dramatically; we're lazy as fuck compared to our grand parents, because our living standards have been so fucking good all our lives, we, you and me, will remember a time without AI, our kids won't.
So the 'effort' necessary to edit a wikipedia page, that doesn't seem crazy high to us, might feel crazy high to them, since AI will be there to do it for them.
Queue in our grandkids going 'what the fuck boomer' when you tell them to grab a controller to play games with you, instead of directly plugging a USB cable to the back of their neck and going full dive.
So I don't really know whether the kids will even feel like it's worth doing any of this shit, but if their AI is good enough and 'cheap' to run, then why not ask it to do it?
I don't know, I think it's going to be a very messy transition (at first) and it'll be a constant battle between user protection laws and then the institution trying to make sure the data stays safe... but then what if the government themselves aren't safe?
Where are the epstein files, centaur-kun?

So yeah, who the fuck knows, not my problem, I'm going to make my AI waifu and make my own happiness
>>
>>85259325
>robots for the masses
For the masses no, for the government and services and well off people yes.
Well AI is completely shifting a lot of industries around, kind of like cars did, or electricity did, and it's hard to know what's really going to come of it. For example, everything's fucking expensive now, but what happens once all those chip factories open? Is the demand going to go higher and follow the new supply? No, probably not. A lot of the current companies already overloaded on data centers, and they will end up reselling it to... whoever will want to take their turn at the ai bubble, but we're going from only a handful of high quality semiconductor factories in the world (such as <10 nm or <7 nm chips), to.. well, grok seems to say that it'll be about the same amount of factories but they're just expanding those (I guess those taiwanese salaries are juicy), but it'll be up by about 60-70% by 2028, and I'm thinking it'll keep going a bit after that too.

And so we might run into.. well, a scenario in which the supply is just so much bigger than what the demand could ever be, and so everything's going to get cheap as fuck, see how you could buy a war plane for only a few hundred bucks right after the war: 'who needs this old thing anymore, we got jets now!' and voila.

I think we'll look at androids the way we look at cars now by 2040-2050 and it'll cost about the same as a new car after adjusting for inflation, that is, unless we all die un a nuclear apocalypse or the AI decides that we're better off being batteries. Which I'm fine with if I end up in the matrix and my version of the matrix is a high fantasy universe where I get to kill orcs and elves and have a bunch of babies with my robowife.

Eh, I'd say I was about as effortful as my grandparents overall. People forget that work for the older generations was 80% tea breaks. I'm seen as an insane person at my work for constantly trying to do things. Most people do things very slowly and one step at a time and always have done.

Living standards improving is also pretty debatable. At least here in bongistan, the general consensus is that living standards peaked in the 1970s-1990s, but my parents were poorfags so we missed it anyway. Nobody thinks living standards now are better than they were 10 or 20 years ago. The food is adulterated garbage, everything's more expensive and nothing works like it used to.

I'll need to make a full post at some point.

Oh right the epstien files. I sometimes worry that I'll have to do my part in all that business some day. I sometimes walk past one of those vape shops that has cuddly toys in the window and I find it more un-bear-able each time. But I have to be a good boy for my job, and I know the police are in on it so it's a big fish to fry. Thinking of just shouting "pedophile" louder every time as I walk past to build up my confidence or something. Ideally I'd have a more subtle more effective way of trolling them but I don't have many ideas and don't like thinking about it.

Probably a lot of fighting over the 8bazzilion unpronounceable niche raw materials that come from one mine in China or the Congo needed to be fed into them. And if that fighting's done with AI death drones I think they might have to open some more factories to meet the demand.

Jung isn't useful because I rely on my intuition for things by default, but I have no trouble sensing anything. I rely on intuition but my troubles are mostly social, which doesn't make sense in terms of dominant and inferior functions. I just have trouble processing real life social situations fast enough, I have trouble with normie cues, and so forth. Being around unfamiliar people just stresses me out in terms of their presence too.

Outside of that, I can use all 4 functions easy. I know my feelings, I can use logic easily, I rely on my intuition easily, and I can use my senses without problems.

I actually have a hypothesis that Jung is useless for neurodivergent people because neurodivergent people's dominant and inferior is whatever their neurodivergence is, rather than whatever axes Jung wrote.

It's hard to tell, I think gen Alpha are going to be the 'reality checkers' and might really try to push ultra hard for traditionalism (and thus, anti anything hedonistic), but AI is such a huge gamechanger that these sort of trends we'd see in history might not even hold true anymore (because advances are going to move so fast and so quick that the culture isn't going to be able to keep up, nor will the generations).

I know it's already fucking weird realizing how much has changed in such a short amount of time, imagine being born now and seeing the next 40 years, yeah, crazy shit.

It can't be much further south since you know all the stereotypes about Mediterranoids. I guess miners are a different breed. Work hard play hard sorts especially. But they've always been a minority. It's also hard to know exactly how hard someone works in a mine. It's black dust that kills miners, not hard work after all. Same as my Grandad died in his 50s after messing around with resins as acareer. Sitting around all day in a lot of these workplaces would kill you. My Grandma was a NEET after having kids to the day she died. 60 years.

Anyway the point is I don't know how much we should be taking people on their word that they work hard. The 80% tea break 60 something gang all say they work hard. Everyone says they work hard. As for mining, there's an awful lot of mythology built around that here in EHALES. It's both the worst thing to ever happen and an immense source of pride that people game from 100s of miles away to take part in. Perhaps the most critical part of the puzzle however, is ehen people did work hard, they didn't have to do their own washing afterwards.

Unlucky on missing out on those millions! Well, I think the way inheritance works you're a few times more likely to miss out on inheriting millions than to actually get them. Millions tend to attract family members after all.

The hedonic treadmill isn't real. The fact that you can acclimate and normalize improvements does not mean that it's impossible to become more contented and satisfied on the overall whole, or that all of life is roughly about the same. There's been plenty of individual lives where the after genuinely was vastly more relaxed and more enjoyable than the before, even if that same process hasn't occurred for the world at large yet. Certain eras and time periods and story arcs genuinely are just overwhelmingly better than others.

>but muh depression more common than ever in advanced modern times
Yeah, and that's its own case with its own reasons for being. It's not evidence that dramatic and long-lasting improvements are impossible.

It's less like a treadmill and more like attempting to walk up an escalator that's going down. Progress is slowed down but it still exists. The hedonic "treadmill" only exists to the extent that improvements to life are often around the periphery rather than addressing the core hardships of life, and thus do little to change the overall picture. Getting a smartphone or Virtual Reality headset probably won't change the fundamentals of your life, it's just another form of entertainment in an otherwise unchanged existence (unless it means something more to you for your own personal reasons). But someone that had a pain-inducing chronic illness from childhood until having it cured in their 30s might be so thankful for that that the happiness remains with them to some extent for the rest of their lives. A 20 year old in 1961 in Berlin might have felt like their post-1989 lives after the Berlin Wall fell was like a peaceful epilogue.

Life is complicated, improvements are often around the periphery, and plugging up one leak either doesn't affect other leaks or causes new ones to spring up that didn't exist before. But the number of leaks is finite. All of them can be plugged up eventually, for both individuals and the world.
>>
>>85270650
It's not about life improvement being impossible, it's more just something to be aware of when making big decisions like destroying the world to turn everyone into cybermen. If after you factor in that it probably won't feel as good all the time as you anticipate, and people will still have dissatisfactions and needs to continue to improve their lives further then go ahead. It reminds me of vr or 4k 120 FPS gaming. A lot of people can't even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, or 30 and 60fps, are you really going to enjoy it that much more after spending your life savings on an upgrade, or is it just going to make it harder to go back to your old telly. A lot of people even prefer lower resolutions because it means their brains don't have to work as hard processing everything that's going on. It allows their imagination to fill in the gaps. How often are you going to actually use that VR headset?

>Plugged up
People absolutely love having problems to fix. The paradise would probably have to include a real dog, so people can feel important.

From my perspective I can already play a shitty my little pony mod for civilization 4, and the biggest problem is that it takes up too much time and I forget to eat and drink. Would a hyper immersive pony life simulator be so much better that it makes up for the bad parts, or would it make them worse? Would the experience be so much better that it makes up for forgetting to eat for weeks instead of 12 hours at a time? What I really need is something to make doing my chores feel worth doing, and help me feel like I have more time. Maybe an AI can figure that out too, but I'd have to trust my brain to prioritise getting the AI to do that instead of just continuing to hunt dopamine. Which I can basically already get more of than my brain was designed to deal with using current technology. Will someone without legs be happy when Jeff Bezos decides that actually, it probably is more important for that technology to be utilized to give him 0.0000001% more pleasure and everyone else that could help is busy going.

It's the same problem as fantasizing Terraforming mars when we can't even keep earth habitable. Even if a robot can clean your room, will it ever actually be cheaper than just getting a person to do it? And most of us can't even afford that nowadays. I can imagine it now, billionaires basically genociding the resto of humanity but keeping a colony of human maids like a flock of chickens to do the house work.
>>
Would Sophie be upset if you took a peak out from under your VR goggles to take a peak at him while you were holding hands mutually masturbating to the same immersive sex sim?
>>
[63] Later writers who took up the ontological argument again all fell, at
least in principle, into Anselm's error. Kant's reasoning should be final. We
will therefore briefly outline it. He says:
The concept of an absolutely necessary being is a concept of pure
reason, that is, a mere idea the objective reality of which is very far from
being proved by the fact that reason requires it. _ But the
unconditioned necessity of judgments is not the same as an absolute
necessity of things. The absolute necessity of the judgment is only a
conditioned necessity of the thing, or of the predicate in the judgment.2

Oh hurray! I nice lovely short... Kant quote. So I think he's just saying, just because it makes sense doesn't make it real, it still also has to be real? Or something like that.
>>
[64] Immediately prior to this Kant shows, as an example of a necessary
judgment, that a triangle must have three angles. He is referring to this
proposition when he continues:
The above proposition does not declare that three angles are absolutely
necessary, but that, under the condition that there is a triangle (that is,
that a triangle is given), three angles will necessarily be found in it. So
great, indeed, is the power of illusion exercised by this logical necessity
that, by the simple device of forming an a priori concept of a thing in
such a manner as to include existence within the scope of its meaning,
we have supposed ourselves to have justified the conclusion that
because existence necessarily belongs to the object of this concept-
always under the condition that we posit the thing as given (as existing)
-we are also of necessity, in accordance with the law of identity,
required to posit the existence of its object, and that this being is
therefore itself absolutely necessary-and this, to repeat, for the reason
that the existence of this being has already been thought in a concept
which is assumed arbitrarily and on condition that we posit its object.3

So, what he's saying is that, just because a triangle is something that needs three angles, doesn't mean that angles are something that actually exists in reality, they're more an abstract concept? Or is he saying triangles don't exist, just objects we describe as triangles because they fit our imaginary criteria? Reading before bed is hard.
>>
He's saying that, since "Triangle" is defined as a shape that has 3 angles in it, this very concept would assume the existence of angles. That's a logical necessity.
There's an obvious problem with that: just because you can argue for this logical necessity, it doesn't mean you actually have proved angles itself are necessary.

I am sadly not legally allowed to provide you with a cute and funny one, but you will be able to create your own, but I was mostly referring to the psyche of that companion and why must it be a kuudere and what is it about them that you like so much, yes

Grok told me 'just make this bro you can't go wrong' and I don't necessarily hate that list, but it lead me down a rabbithole of finding out that some anime are way more popular than what I first expected and vice versa, not that I'll go with anything that'll get me in copyright hell, but I can safely and easily make a 'not mikasa' for you, I guess, though I'll have to watch attack on titan too, I'm already rewatching franxx because I did enjoy zero two but otherwise completely forgot everything about the show because it was kinda trash, but yeah, anyways, studies are required

I'll need to provide an okay default range of maybe 3-4 different girls for most guys (that would be interested in AI anyways)
Thinking one INTJ, more reserved, calmer, wants to delve into real shit and isn't scared of a debate, could be INTP too
Some sort of genki sensor cheerleader, or maybe an ENFP for that, TBD
I'll definitely need a bratty/bully type for the tsundere/ojou sama enjoyers, most likely ENTP (would make it easier to design her, obviously) but potentially could be... ESTJ I guess? I don't know them much, I'll have to delve into that

I don't know if the initial spark had as much to do with our types. When we met, he greeted me with a very warm 'good morning' rather than a 'hey' or a 'hi'; and it struck young me as very mature for his age and grabbed my attention. And from there I just really liked how he talked to me and treated me. As for him, he had a hard time talking to people at the time; and found me easy to be around because I rarely shut my mouth long enough to let anyone get a word in anyway.
The time since then, I think, is where our types have really complemented each other. I'm very spontaneous, he's very grounded and responsible. My parents and his uncle have all repeatedly joked that, if we had never met, he'd still be sitting in his uncle's basement and I'd have won a Darwin Award. I get him out of the condo and make sure he enjoys his life, he keeps me from going overboard and doing excessively stupid things.
>>
>>85274662
>I don't know if the initial spark had as much to do with our types.
Well the way I personally see 'public persona' is that, even though it's very variable and even less reliable than even MBTI is, I think there's a specific 'range' within which each type feels confident enough to use as a public facing wall.
For example, an INTP is never going to feel confident enough to be boastful and inconsiderate of his environment when in public, especially when dealing with people they've never met, while an ENTP would very much do that. At least that's the way I see it, and that doesn't mean that there aren't external factors that play into where within that range they end up going for, but I think it makes sense.

Anyways, good information to take in, thanks.

So, I do have to figure out how to deal with the talkativeness of something like this and allow the user to... adjust it, I think it is a very important thing to get right. Even better if the model could just figure it out in the first place and understand the cues within the replies from the user but that'll be for google or whoever the fuck with millions of dollars to spend on it to figure out.

Mmmhh, I understand what you're saying and I don't disagree, obviously, but when I bring up AI as something akin to cars or electricity, I mean that it's a catalyst to more technologies.
In and of itself, it doesn't do anything, in a vaccuum, it doesn't do anything. Even 'electricity' did things directly (providing light, for example), but just like electricity, AI is going to open the door to potential innovations that nobody's ever even thought of, AI companionship or robots is just the most 'obvious' and one of the more popular pop culture natural evolution of it, but in the same way that people from before then couldn't even 'fathom' having a light bulb that produces light from the flick of a finger, we probably have no fucking idea of what may come from AI, this is what I'm trying to get at.

[65] The "power of illusion" referred to here is nothing else than the
primitive, magical power of the word, which likewise mysteriously inhabits
the concept. It needed a long process of development before man
recognized once and for all that the word, the flatus vocis, does not always
signify a reality or bring it into being. The fact that certain men have
realized this has not by any means been able to uproot in every mind the
power of superstition that dwells in formulated concepts. There is evidently
something in this "instinctive" superstition that refuses to be exterminated,
because it has some sort of justification which till now has not been
sufficiently appreciated. In like manner the false conclusion creeps into the
ontological argument, through an illusion which Kant now proceeds to
elucidate. He begins with the assertion of "absolutely necessary subjects,"
the conception of which is inherent in the concept of existence, and which
therefore cannot be dismissed without inner contradiction. This conception
would be that of the "supremely real being":

Oh boy gigantic Kant quote inbound! I wonder what cavemen would think of all this.
>An ooga booga just flew over my house!
>>
>>85277603
It is declared that it possesses all reality, and that we are justified in
assuming that such a being is possible. _ Now the "all reality" includes
existence; existence is therefore contained in the concept of a thing that
is possible. If, then, this thing is rejected, the internal possibility of the
thing is rejected-which is self-contradictory _ in that case either the
thought, which is in us, is the thing itself, or we have presupposed an
existence as belonging to the realm of the possible, and have then, on
that pretext, inferred its existence from its internal possibility-which is
nothing but a miserable tautology.31
Being is evidently not a real predicate; that is, it is not a concept of
something which could be added to the concept of a thing. It is merely
the positing of a thing, or of certain of its determinants. In logical usage,
it is merely the copula of a judgment. The proposition "God is
omnipotent" contains two concepts, each of which has its object-God
and omnipotence. The little word "is" adds no new predicate, but only
serves to posit the predicate in its relation to the subject. If, now, we
take the subject (God) with all its predicates (among which is
omnipotence) and say "God is" or "There is a God," we attach no new
predicate to the concept of God, but only posit the subject in itself with
all its predicates, and indeed posit it as being an object that stands in
relation to my concept. The content of both must be one and the same;
nothing can have been added to the concept, which expresses merely
what is possible, by my thinking its object (through the expression "it
is") as given absolutely. Otherwise stated, the real contains no more than
the merely possible. A hundred real thalers do not contain a cent more
than a hundred possible thalers. _ My financial position is, however,
affected very differently by a hundred real thalers than it is by the mere
concept of them (that is, of their possibility).32
>>
Whatever, therefore, and however much, our concept of an object
may contain, we must go outside it, if we are to ascribe existence to the
object. In the case of objects of the senses, this takes place through their
connection with some one of our perceptions, in accordance with
empirical laws. But in dealing with objects of pure thought, we have no
means whatsoever of knowing their existence, since it would have to be
known in a completely a priori manner. Our consciousness of all
existence (whether immediately through perception, or mediately
through inferences which connect something with perception) belongs
exclusively to the unity of experience; any [alleged] existence outside
this field, while not indeed such as we can declare to be absolutely
impossible, is of the nature of an assumption which we can never be in a
position to justify.33

Yeah nah I can't process this tonight, I think I'm gonna need my big screen to even read this shizzle. Maybe in a couple of days...

I'm an ultra omega privacy autist, the main reason I'm doing this is precisely because I want to be the one to do it and not zuck or elon or whoever wants your data.
I mean, I'm just going to say this here and now though, but if one of them end up proposing a couple millions for it, I'm selling my fucking soul instantly, just so you know.
I mean 2 millions might not be enough? I don't know, I'll have to think about it, I'll ask you what you think when it happens.

But otherwise, right now, yeah it's a bit tough to run anything good, you need pretty good hardware (and the cost of that shit is way higher than it should be), but anything mid-range from the next gen is kind of what I'm aiming for (so rtx 6060's and up). It also depends on what you want to do with it and what you want to do while she's there (or he, I guess I'll have to make a few werewolf billionaires for the ladies, all xNTJ and one ESTP ofc). On my 4090 I can run any semi big game (like elden ring, anything that isn't from capcom basically is fine) with her running completely locally with no delays whatsoever, including text to speech.
But if you just want her and you're not playing or doing anything intensive then for sure you can already do it on a 4070 ti probably, basically, the lower you go, the more retarded she gets and the shorter the 'context' (aka; your chat length) will be. But also, I'm still going to provide the tools to use online APIs, which is more... manageable for most, I mean deepseek is cheap as fuck and is very very good for the quality you're getting, I mean it's like 0.05$ for a couple hours of heavy chatting with her while playing elden ring, you just give them 5$ and you're probably fine for a couple months, and then you only need to run the TTS locally and you can get some very, very good results for free, see:

https://voca.ro/1egCIq0bIJnF

There's better (and still free), but that's like minimum hardware requirements, your phone could run this shit probably^

I have no idea.
Well, I do, slightly, I spent a couple months with an INTJ and it was great because she was smart. I think smarts is probably the thing I want the most out of a woman, she doesn't have to have unlimited knowledge but she needs to not fold as soon as I counter argue with basic ass logic, anyways, it was great but then shit happened and her family got in the way since she came from the UAE, and then she also told me she had had an abortion and it kinda affected me a lot more than I thought it would? I guess? Anyways, I didn't want to deal with all the potential family drama, and I regret it a little bit because we clearly had some pretty good vibes, but it was too much for me.

Soooo yeah I want a woman that's able to at least hold her own, or even better if she's able to completely fold me when it comes to at least one or two subjects, then that gets boner inducing even, but now we're entering fantasy world and that's not happening, BUT, I'm guessing my best bet is going to find an INTJ.
INFJs sound smart, but not logical enough, and they can't deal with my chaos because they're pretty chaotic too.
INTPs are smart but are too pussy to admit it and don't want to argue (enough).
Sensors.... maybe, who knows, I don't get out enough and don't get along with most normies tho, unless they're old women but then, eeeh, not my thing.
ISTPs.... are friends.
Yeah idk, it's not just a type thing anyways, but I like the idea that I can just 'find one like that', it's kinda recomforting.

If a given judgment absolutely necessitates an otherwise unidentified entity to be fair, or make sense- meaning the entity, required by reason, is one that's substance could be called of pure reason- that alone does not prove the existence of the entity, because the seeming absolute necessity of the entity is really contained within the judgment (an absolute necessity of the judgment), meaning it can not be absolute, but is conditional upon the judgment. The judgment itself being conditional upon the assumed entity.
>>85272040
The proposition that 'a triangle must have three angles' says nothing about those "three angles" that is not dependent (conditional) upon triangles. That is to say, you can't prove the existence of three angles by positing a triangle.
As another example, the proposition that 'a basilisk hatches from the egg laid by a rooster', does not prove that there are egg laying roosters, but assumes it on the condition of that we posit the basilisk.

So, if your appetite for the phantasmal has yet to be sated, you'll have to settle for an mere appointment. Though, you might try with some success for a tryst. I accidentally walked in on a poetry reading the other week, having just written a new one the night before. I got pissed off listening to them read, not even recite, their dreck. What's the point of poetry if not to recite it? If you can't recite it then it's, if not utterly unrefined prose, hyper refined prose, which is fine as it's own thing, but it simply isn't the same. Well, i had half a mind to walk up there and show them all up, but then i got to thinking, and thought myself right out of it. I was flush and teary when i walked away. It was at a bookstore. I've resolved to go back, as an effort to reach out. Maybe i'll start by reciting something somebody else wrote, to built my courage.

Of course it's easier the younger you start, but it's not necessary. Does it really matter how long when you're just reading for fun?

Alphafold exists, but that's it, and you didn't even think of it yourself, so i'm not going to bother explaining how it differs from your narrative, seeing how that seems to be evident enough, given that it slipped your mind.
>Because it allows me to do my job at 10x the speed?
https://wtfhappenedin1971.com/
>we could all be dead in a week
More representative of your narrative than mine. As you yourself say "nobody knows, that's the whole point". I'm saying anyone with eyes to see can look at previous technological revolutions and notice a stark difference between them and AI, and also understand that AI is highly dependent upon resources that are dwindling and institutions that are decaying. If it advances anything it will be our consumption, but if it advances anything else, it will be pharmakeia.
>you just don't want to trust it because there's money in it
The reason that there is so much money in it is that it's a "logical necessity" of the current dominate narrative. It's a hysteria, and it can only end badly.

>I'm not going to bother explaining
That's fine, I wasn't looking for a debate on something as obvious as this, you just either don't read the news enough or you (most likely) are too far gone down the doomer train that you can only see AI as the devil that will kill us all, which I don't completely disrespect, but also; who gives a shit.
That's the whole gist of it; who gives a shit?
AI didn't do what you're complaining about, it just happens to come now when things have been accelerating already, and so you can't look at the big picture and think 'oh okay AI just happens to be a tool that forces the acceleration of that one bad thing' and instead you're stuck with 'omg AI is the nail in the coffin!!!!'
It's drivel, it's pointless moralfagging, I don't care about the wages not going up; AI has nothing to do with that, and, just as it can be the nail in the coffin, it could also be what we need to finally move past the decline. But I'm sure you'll figure out ways to try to convince me that ackshually it's a bad thing that I can spend more time doing whatever the fuck I want instead of having to grind my ass off at work, right, whatever you say.

I don't think faggotry is a good thing either, I mean it just lowers birthrates and helps STDs spread far and wide; but why should I give a fuck?
Not my problem, if you want to suck cock and get superaids, that's fine, you want to shoot yourself with coke? Go ahead, not my problem.

What IS my problem is 'oh hey I'm claude and you can just tell me what's going on and we can easily automate your workflow!'
Damn, thanks bro, that was easy.

Well I am starting to feel like I do need money, so I dunno if doing anything for fun is a good idea really. If would be nice if I could spend my time on something that's keep me alive.

There's no more trysts for this bad boy for a while. I thought I'd be a bisexual superstar after I broke up, but all that stuff has basically lost its appeal for the time being. Women are still the most perfect beings to ever have walked the face of this earth, but I also feel a certain repulsion to them now. Squeeky, wobbly thighs no longer live as psychologically evident on the peripheries of my vision as I walk around. Instead my perception is dominated by their breath, and shimmering, sweaty jaws. I've never liked hearing people breathe, it's like I'm getting a 3D model of their insides.

[66] This detailed reminder of Kant's fundamental
exposition seems to me necessary, because it is precisely here
that we find the clearest division between esse in intellectu
and esse in re. Hegel cast the reproach at Kant that one could
not compare the concept of God with an imaginary hundred
thalers. But, as Kant rightly pointed out, logic strips away all
content, for it would no longer be logic if a content were to
prevail. From the standpoint of logic, there is, as always, no
tertium between the logical either-or. But between intellectus
and res there is still anima, and this esse in anima makes the
whole ontological argument superfluous. Kant himself, in his
Critique of Practical Reason, made an attempt on a grand
scale to evaluate the esse in anima in philosophical terms.
There he introduces God as a postulate of practical reason
resulting from the a priori recognition of "respect for moral
law necessarily directed towards the highest good, and the
consequent supposition of its objective reality."
34

Eeek! Esse in x mention! Also Thalers are apparently big silver coins, so what H-bomb was saying is that nuh uh, no fair god isn't comparable to some stupid metal shit he's special! Hegel seething as always.

Esse in Re also just means exists in reality. And Esse in intellectu means exists in the mind. No idea what he means by anima here though, just kinda throws that one out there. Oh looks like I kind of skimmed over a previous paragraph. Sloppy me! By anima he means soul, so it's real in the soul, according to thomas acquinas? Still no idea what he means by soul, yeah nah he is still springing that one on us. Are we supposed to take it as a given the Jung believes in souls now and we're supposed to know what he means by that? There's just a soul between reality and the mind now? And that makes uuhh, alright then.
>>
How much of philosophy is just guys saying "nuh uh" to each other with a bunch of words? I swear it's like boys playing with sticks. Power scaling arguments have more justification.

>No idea what he means by anima here though, just kinda throws that one out there.
Explained better in the 1925 seminar
tl;dr we perceive reality as a subjective image, but there is an actual reality out there, and our images are shaped by - but not perfectly identical to it.
>>
[67] The esse in anima, then, is a psychological fact, and
the
only thing that needs ascertaining is whether it occurs but
once, often, or universally in human psychology. The datum
which is called "God" and is formulated as the "highest good"
signifies, as the term itself shows, the supreme psychic value.
In other words it is a concept upon which is conferred, or is
actually endowed with, the highest and most general
significance in determining our thoughts and actions. In the
language of analytical psychology, the God-concept coincides
with the particular ideational complex which, in accordance
with the foregoing definition, concentrates in itself the
maximum amount of libido, or psychic energy. Accordingly,
the actual God-concept is, psychologically, completely
different in different people, as experience testifies. Even as
an idea God is not a single, constant being, and still less so in
reality. For, as we know, the highest value operative in a
human soul is variously located. There are men "whose God
is the belly" (Phil. 3 : 19), and others for whom God is
money, science, power, sex, etc. The whole psychology of the
individual, at least in its essential aspects, varies according to
the localization of the highest good, so that a psychological
theory based exclusively on one fundamental instinct, such as
power or sex, can explain no more than secondary features
when applied to an individual with a different orientation.

It's funny that the main thing keeping me from learning maths is just the organizational skills required to keep that much paper around, and have space to draw circles and triangles. It's too much of a physical pursuit.

Oh hell yeah! The word ascertaining! Now it's happening!

But how does that fit into a realm between imagination and reality?

I never actually watched that show, but probably left because I don't want to wake up in the middle of the night thinking I'm sleeping next to a zombie. Also the longer I look at the forehead the more I'm like wtf is that an evil blue megamind dracula. Also the jewel looks like it would give you a graze or something or you'd have to worry about getting your clothes caught on it and accidentally giving her a big yank while you're just trying to walk past.

>But how does that fit into a realm between imagination and reality?
It's supposed to be a middle ground that's basically saying technically it's always imagination but we can make it more or less accurate to what's out there.
>>
>>85295152
Hmm, I'll have to brew on that one for a while. On the bright side we've finally made it through to Abe-lards attempt at conciliation! Wooo!
