So today I was tasked with troubleshooting a production server
One of the RAM modules wasn't detected by the bios so I had check if it has gone bad and replace it if so
So I shut down the server, unplugged the cables, opened it and removed the memory
It turned out that for some reason contacts on the module were dirty so I cleaned them up
I reassembled everything, powered on the server, turned it on, and all memory was correctly detected by the bios and the OS
So basically I serviced a prod server all by myself and that server is supposed to be used by the CTO himself for machine learning so that's a big win for me
Additionally I finally received my paycheck
Drinking wine and eating pizza to celebrate
