but even the "official" definition of this "disorder" is very vague.

Literally everyone, especially young people, all think of themselves this way. What a farce! You know what's really ironic? This definition says that people with bpd differ significantly from everyone else, and yet bpd is considered the most common "disorder". Isn't that funny? Everyone tries to hard to be unique that they all end up doing the same thing LOL

If you have bpd you will say things like this to lure in unsuspecting boys with white knight complexes. It makes them feel special like they can save you, and you get lots and lots of attention from them for being the victim of everyone else.

You'd think it was a mutually beneficial relationship, that you both get something out of it. You're both satisfying each other's emotional needs. And for a while, things will work great. But it's never enough for the bpd girlfriend. Because you see, if you have someone who truly cares about you, who gives you the support you need, you can't play the victim anymore. And that's the one thing the bpd girlfriend absolutely cannot stand. She HAS to be the victim. She CRAVES it.

And so you turn your rescuer into the persecutor. No matter what they do, they have to be the bad guy, so that you can play the role of the victim again. And that's when the bpd girlfriend does her thing. You can't help but manipulate, to gaslight, to turn everything against the people who love you the most. You will accuse them of the most horrific things imaginable, you will turn every conversation against them, you will verbally and emotionally abuse them just to try to trigger a negative reaction from them so you can recoil and scream at how you're being victimized and abused.

In short you will make his life a living hell. Sorry I've been through this too many times, I feel like other people should be warned.

for some reason you seem to act like it's not a real mental illness. It's just some bad words we made up to make girls who have been abused feel bad.
No, it's fucking real. It affects people, we know what it does.
That's like saying "You can't make broad statements about people diagnosed with pedophilia like they can't babysit children or work at daycare centers." Yes I fucking can, and no they shouldn't be doing that kind of work because their mental illness makes them a massive risk to cause harm to others.
The same thing is true about people with BPD and committed relationships.
They are abusers. That's what BPD makes people do. You don't get into a relationship with someone who has a mental illness that causes them to abuse others.

For some reason this concept is well understood with men. If a man has a mental illness that causes him to abuse his partner, we tell people not to get in a relationship with that person.

But if the same is true of women, well for some reason we can't tell people not to date those women. Because they're special.

Snap out of the white knight delusion. You can't save a girl with BPD. They put Borderline Personality Disorder in the DSMV for a reason. AVOID THEM.

bpd isn't a curse from god that makes people demons. it's just a personality disorder that makes people feel intense emotions and have abandonment issues. people with bpd can control those symptoms and live normal lives, or they can not control those symptoms and be abusive. i get that you were personally hurt by someone with bpd, but that doesn't mean that you can demonize a group of people who each have differing severity of symptoms and effectiveness of coping skills

Dudes just don't get diagnosed with mental illnesses often and usually refuse to go to therapy (which means they 1, never diet diagnosed and 2, never get help)
People with BPD can be good people, but are more likely to have bad traits.
Really what it indicates is some traits you know ahead of time so you can know if you are ready for the road that is having a BPD partner.
