my partner has diabetes so i'm trying to make a savory oaxacan mole negro since chocolate is traditional for the holiday and they like spicy things
>>
I do not know where to do that, the cheapest website I know for good snack ingredients they are still by the pound

you should learn how to hide threads, i feel like it would make your life a lot easier. anyway if you were buying dried chiles, where would you look first?

if you are in the US go to a bigger supermarket that has a "Hispanic" section. They always have smaller bags of died chilis and spices much cheaper than the spice section. I just picked some Mexican spices up in a Super1.
I have jars and jars full of dried Thai dragons that I grew, but being anonymous I can't send you any.

this is helpful !! i've gotten the common dried chiles (de arbol, gajillo, ancho, etc.) in normal grocery stores, but i've never seen really hot chiles like habaneros. i guess i could substitute the habaneros for a few chile de arbol and then cut down on some of the mild chiles so the dish wouldn't be overwhelmed by pepper flavor
