>mass nanomanufacturing will give us hypercapacitors, multi-junction solar panels, and solve plasma and electrothermal instabilities
The future looks bright for once, bros.

You use solar. Then you burn that small work to buy that bulley. Paradise.

TGGJ

>hypercapacitors
you mean supercapacitors
would solve a lot if this get affordable.
>>
fuck your hippie utopia man, were going to grow oranges in alaska someday with good old coal and gas
>>

Bro you smell of poo and are poo, don't post.
>>
>>16364283
We already have supercapacitors. I'm referring to capacitors with extremely high specific energy.

Just two more weeks!

Actually you'll live in a box, never see the sun and consume your own feces, while you protest the weirdos who want to have families and you'll do it all willingly.
>>
>>16364210
>hypercapacitors
Uhhhhhh... maybe? Advanced nanotech could make better energy storage, but it won't necessarily be capacitors
>multi junction solar panels
Definitely. 100% possible with advanced nanotech
>plasma and electrothermal instabilities
Ummmm... what? What the fuck are you talking about. Also if you post NANOTECH and OTTAWA enough times online, eventually private investigators will show up at your house! Also, FUCK SOLARPUNK!

It will also get rid of all the disgusting huwhitoids.
Only beautiful Black, asian, and native folxs will remain; carefully guided by us Jews!

That is one of the few things people agree upon when discussing Solarpunk.

This is now a Solarpunk thread.

Nuclear fusion + ionocrafts
>hypercapacitors
>Why?
nuclear fusion + ionocrafts + it's a more stable form of energy storage than batteries and much more durable.
>>
>>16377022
I don't care about any of this hippy bullshit. I want borders and no haitians/indians/senegalese/afghans/pakis/chinks/congolese/somalians/egyptians around. Central Asian women are welcome and Mongolians in general too. I just don't want sub-80 IQ people tearing down my natural heritage for ~~le oil and I despise the noise of internal combustion engines.
>>
>>16365325
You can do that now, there are a few greenhouses dug into the ground that use radiant heating from the ground to maintain air temp. They are dug below the frost line, suck air through a radiating system of tubes under a field that heats the air to a temperature of 60 degrees which is then pumped into the green house. Heat from the winter day is then captured using the greenhouse like a magnifying glass to heat stores of water up which then radiates heat through the night keeping the inside of the greenhouse in tropical conditions. The only electricity needed is to maintain air circulation
>>
>>16380701
>Nuclear fusion + ionocrafts
I can agree that huge amounts of dirt cheap energy is needed but I cannot see that ionocrafts are part of this.
>>
Solar panels are non recyclable and end up in landfills. They cover acres and acres of habitat and only produce electricity when the sun is shining so you also need expensive batteries which also end up as e-waste.

go nuclear
>>
>>16381128
>Solar panels are non recyclable
Got a source for that?
Also, these can last 40 years with minimal decrease in efficiency, so I see no need for drama.
>>
>>16381128
>Solar panels are non recyclable
old news. you can recycle them.
>They cover acres and acres of habitat
so do the sºy fields that feed china.
>only produce electricity when the sun is shining so you also need expensive batteries
thankfully we'll have hypercapacitors.
>go nuclear
sure.

When you're looking to solve a very specific problem it can be useful to look at it during a google search.
>>
>>16380701
anon, what the FUCK are you talking about? Ionocraft aren't limited by electrothermal instabilities, they're limited by the properties of air. You can't change the breakdown field strength of air
>it's a more stable form of energy storage than batteries
Anon, I don't think you understand nuclear fusion or ionocrafts. Ionocraft aren't more efficient than propellers.
>>
>>16364210
Notice how they never draw the barbed wire fences and rinky dink constructions or the rusting 1960s crane that's been sitting on some farmers yard for 40 years. Denial by ommission, these futurology illustrations exclude the ugliness of rural life because it's made by retards who have never seen it.
>>
>>16369543
I'll bet there's no fish swimming in that water
>>
>>16384152
>Ionocraft aren't more efficient than propellers.
yes, they are. around 50x more efficient.
>You can't change the breakdown field strength of air
don't have to. just apply moar voltage.
>>
>>16380148
yeah no shit, i think solar power is cool but in the cool 1960's semiconductor way not the gay hippie way
>>
>>16380701
ionocrafts are somewhat pointless, I went through a phase where I really wanted to propel stuff without moving parts and eventually I figured out that spinny blades are the best way to move air/water and probably will be for a long time
>>
>Thinking anything beyond nuclear will solve any energy issue
Solarpunkfags are so fucking retarded it's unreal.
>>
>>16384214
most modelling indicates that using nuclear alongside renewables is cheaper than using either alone, the one nuclear plant under construction in the U.S has a thermal storage system built into it specifically so it can be used with weather dependant stuff more effectively
>>
>>16380804
>making shit looking infrastructure even shittier by covering it all in trees and bushes making your megacity look like Pripyat
>thinking that putting bushes and trees and shit everywhere would have any impact whatsoever on CO2 emissions when most photosynthesis happens from Algae
>Thinking solar panels are A). cheap and efficient. B). clean in terms of manufacturing. And C). long term solutions economically and environmentally when you have to replace all of them every ten fucking years

Ziggurat art deco styled nuclear reactors or nothing. Simple as.

It would be better in space. O'Neill cylinders twice the surface area of earth with just one jungle biome. A few imitation Aztec ruins hidden in there as Easter eggs. Garden of Eden in space

>yes, they are. around 50x more efficient.
compared to jet engines. Compared to helicopters it's maybe 2x better. Once you take into account losses in the electricity generation and power conversion electronics, it ain't better. Oh and the thrust density is so SHIT, that it's not even worth investigating. NASA's NIAC recently funded work investigating trying to increase the thrust density and guess fucking what? It's not longer efficient and thrust density is still fucking anemic.
>don't have to. just apply moar voltage.
then you get an arc and the thruster shorts out.
>>
>>16384237
>thrust density is so SHIT
well, that is true. for now.
>>
>>16384214
nuclear is fine (if you ignore safety risks). but it's baseline for the grid. you can't manage fluctuations throughout the day.

The picture is from a northern part of Norway, where the water is crystal clear. There is plenty of fish around. perhaps you confused this with Spanish waters.
