Retarded question, in my CS classes we accessed a database through the school website which looked like a regular command prompt but the teacher said it was linux and all the commands were slightly different. Is this just some kind of web based linux server? Does it mean their website runs on linux?
Is it just a linux terminal attached to their database? Nothing too complex

>>16384662Sounds like they prepared a Linux server with database software (probably something like PostgreSQL?) installed. They wanted to teach you how to use the database and, incidentally, a little bit of Linux command line knowledge too.Usually, when connecting to a remote Linux server to run commands on it, you would use something called SSH.However SSH takes a bit of time/effort to set up, and they probably felt this would be a distraction form the database content they wanted to teach. So they set things up so that you can get command-line access via a web browser instead. There are a few different ways they could have set that up. The database, the web-based command line access, and the rest of the school website might be on three separate servers, or they could be using the same server to do more than one thing.
>>16384662You're right, that is a retarded question. Please never post here again.
>>16384662This is AI level stuff, OP. Have you tried asking the school AI to explain it to you? That's how they do it like in the action thriller spy/heist movies.
