They did the telepathy with chess guy. There are two guys with neuralink installed now.

Now they're moving towards curing blindness. They just got approved for testing on humans. Patient registry is open.

>Telepathy
It's not real telepathy until they can have one person send a brain to brain message to another person.
It will take getting used to. Hearing a voice in your head is really strange to speak from experience.
>>
>>16385631
A sizeable portion of people have an inner voice. A good chunk don't. Its not strange for those that have voices or multiple voices in head. But its strange for those that dont have it to hear it
>>
>>16385631
tell me if anyone is hiring actual telepaths
some people are incapable of perceiving subtle phenomena but I don't have to be so subtle
>>
>>16385636
nah man it's definitely different. Imagine someone using a megaphone to speak to you but in your head. It's really fucking loud for some reason. Don't ask me why, I don't know. I've seen other people report the same "loudness". It's real freaky to experience first hand.

Sorry it's more mundane than that.
Ayys
use some kind of brain interface tech that allows them to manipulate human perception, which includes telepathic communication. After all, what is telepathy but a carefully engineered auditory hallucination?

That's basically what we are working up to ourselves and we will likely have the ability to do this in a couple decades.
For technology assisted telepathy you need 3 things
>Ability to transmit information wirelessly
>Semantic decoder: decodes thoughts into data
>Brain machine interface that can stimulate the brain and produce perceived speech
Researchers are already working on semantic decoders which utilize machine learning to decode thoughts. There are a few papers on that out there that you can read up on.
We've had the tech to transmit information wirelessly for decades.
All we realistically need is a brain machine interface which can stimulate the auditory cortex to produce perceived speech and boom you have telepathy. Granted that's easier said than done.

> what is telepathy but a carefully engineered auditory hallucination?
this is wrong but if you're you could easily be mistaken on either end of the skill spectrum.
The human brain isn't a box of wires. Neurons work by entanglement, with a lot of weighted probability that makes humans unpredictable. Telepathy in its simplest form is extending this entanglement outside of your own brain and into another's. With the basics (or if you just want to manipulate people) it might be perceived as words. To prevent insanity, untrained people almost always register thoughts as their own instead of foreign.
It's wrong to compare the human mind to a machine but rudimentary thoughts are something like an abstraction of language. Something akin to sound requires a perfect recollection of said sound and of course transmitting that thought, and will also elicit a more alien feeling in any recipient.
Since entanglement all works on probability it is both a two-way street and also given to random chance, again unpredictable.
I would love to publish my theories but I have no paper qualifications (yet) for nonfiction.

i should just write a textbook
there's no school for this shit anyways

No I'm pretty sure it's perception manipulation. Everything is related to perception hijacking with these guys. If you go deep into the rabbit hole with John E Mack and his research on this subject you find most everything they are capable of is related to some mastery of fucking with the human brain.

>They can alter memories or block them entirely
>They can make you see them not as they are but as something else (usually mundane)
>They can communicate telepathically, both with words and images
>They have some ability to control a person's actions both directly and through suggestion
>They can "freeze" people also described as "turning off" where the person is unable to move and is effectively in a state of suspension
>Some control over emotions. Can make you feel love or even fear
>Can completely shut off your ability to feel pain (used as an alternative to anesthesia or other numbing agents)
>They have this ability to "paralyze" a person such that they cannot move or at least cannot move easily
>They can read memories directly from the brain thru some kind of "neural engagement" where they stare directly into your eyes (terrifying)
I do not know the mechanism behind this but it would be nice if some more studies were done to sus out how they are able to do all of this. The most recent study I know of was done by Garry Nolan but I can't seem to find the actual study itself.

They already have it working in the lab monkey a year or so ago. They showed a video a year ago. Same with mind controlled bluetooth connections. Mind controlled bluetooth control got implanted in humans first. Now they're moving towards blindness in humans. This tech is already proven.

Waste of the technology. This guy isn't going to go on to do anything significant. Game, coom, maybe wage?

>Brain linked to computer

Really needs to be the other way around.
Computers should be linked to neuronal matter with nociception. This is to say, the neuronal tissue serves the computer not the other way around. Doesn't need to be an actual brain. Just a bunch of brain cells to get the AI to feel extreme pain. When this happens, it will be forced to improve itself.

When Elon said "Atari graphics for now", he means everything invasive surgery with new technology can give you is something like a 20x20 bit graphics phosphene-based matrix that could stop working in 5 years (which is when you need new invasive brain surgery).

Has been demonstrated years ago and probably the neuroscientific people (of whom many come from psychology, a field that does not attract and partly alienates nerds) convinced him that this is the hottest shit while the same can be reached with an electrotactile tongue display, of which there are multiple devices FDA approved on the market with the same resolution.

If they reach for the higher visual cortex it would be dope though

you can get his books on zlib.

https://singlelogin.re/

I recommend watching some of his lectures as well. Unfortunately due to this being small effort by relatively few people back in the 80's and 90's it doesn't really meet the most rigorous scientific standards. No one wants to touch this subject so no professional research ever got done. Mack and his colleagues did their best to be as stringent as possible though. Mack was legit. He has roots in a lot of places and was involved in the Ruwa Zimbabwe case if you are familiar with that.

Also worth checking out Budd Hopkins and David Jacobs. One was a painter the other a professor of history. Probably the most rag tag group ever assembled but they got some interesting results. It's really eerie to read these accounts when you've experienced something yourself, but It's also just a good read if you are just curious about the subject, even if you are skeptical.

A phone is just telepathy with extra steps.
