Is matter anything with mass, or anything that’s there
>>
Light is there
but in the end it isn't even matter
>>
A pond is matter.
Is a ripple on the ponds surface extra matter?

matter is any substance that has mass AND takes up space by having volume.
- Any = one or some of a thing or number of things, no matter how much or how many
- Substance = made up of only one type of atom or molecule and has consistent properties throughout
- Mass = quantitative measure of inertia
- “takes up space” = to require space or to be a measure of how big or bulky something is
- Volume = the amount of three-dimensional space occupied by a substance or object, measured in cubic units like cubic meters (m3) or liters (L)

Examples of things which are not considered matter: time, sound, light (sunlight), heat, gravity, love, thoughts, ideas, emotions, reflections, and rainbows

Mass is a fundamental quantity used to describe nature. The SI unit for mass is the kilogram, with the symbol kg.

But what happens when you get into the quantum real, like with Bose-Einstein condensate?

do electrons take up space?

Anything with momentum. See Wigner’s classification.

>light (sunlight), gravity
Things get tricky with field theory:
Going by the sound and light example, a Sound wave requires the air field to exist.
Light wave requires the light field to exist.
Gravity wave/warpage requires the gravity field to exist.
Air field is matter.
Light field is possibly matter (magnetic field).
Gravity field is possible matter.

Referred to as """""virtual""""" particles, that may have a rest mass.
Or """"""quantum foam""""" that may have mass

Yay or nay?

The actual definition has to do with mass (I think). There is probably some way to describe all states of being, but I do not know the scientific term.

>light has no mass
Yes.
>light doesn’t matter
No.

This is why I hate the term ‘matter’.

Yes, light exists. Light matters (stolen from >>16470139).

Yes, there are indeed physical particles that have zero mass. The particles that are massless are: the gluon, the photon, and the graviton. Gluons are the massless particles that hold together atomic nuclei.

Physics, to me, is physical phenomena. It is in the name. But what is ‘physical’ isn’t a matter (lol) of mass.
>>
Google Search: “Matter without mass?”
Google Answer: “Yes, retard. Photons.”

Google Search: “Is light matter?”
Google Answer: “No, retard. Light 0 mass!”

Semantics is the literal rot of science.
>>
>>16470153
Photons have no "rest mass"

>This is why I hate the term ‘matter’.
It’s more of a hate-love relationship. It’s as ironic as it is helpful.
>>
Matter is in the end just a philosophical category. That said, I think the least problematic definition of matter is that it is simply motion and its all its forms.
>>
>>16469316
Requires to both occupy space and possess rest mass.
>>
Space is a form of matter to the bubble like fifth dimensional aliens responsible for making our universe so gay

Wanna know a joke?
A hippo is considered a fat Mass
Don't you get it refers to the fat and the ass.
I realized you did not post the joke because people will assume that is it not funny when it is.
If you think this is not funny, then you're assuming. If you think you know it is not then you are an ass hole.
If you know this is not funny without understanding the context, then you are a prick. Do you know what's the difference from a porcupine, than a prick, They always stay with inside the B.M.W.

There is no such thing as matter, only mind.

>>16466501
Matter is defined as anything which isn't mind. But it's an illusion and a faulty concept, because mind is all there is.

There is no such thing as "mass". Mass is just the measure of decoherence between entangled systems.
