They aren't even stars at all. How did science.org fuck up so badly?

brown dwarfs do not have fusion reactions and neither do neutron stars, therefore they are not stars. Jupiter we need a mass of 80x more to undergo fusion.

(some neutron stars can undergo fusion on their surface if they are feeding off another, actual star.)
