every creature only has one goal and that is surviving, but for some reason humans who can plan stuff in long term (as opposed to non human creatures who are impulsive and live in the present) aren't trying to survive forever what kind of bullshit is that, am i missing something here is universe retarded?
squirrels hide food for the winter...
>>16477914kek you got me, but they are also retarded and solitary
Ants literally discovered agriculture before humans.
>>16477919We probably did agriculture before we became homo sapien if you're calling what ants do agriculture.
>>16477903survival isn't the goal of creatures so you are operating on a false premise
>>16477917genes are "interested" in procreating, that's why plenty of animals get eaten after fucking
>>16477903Humans have a powerful brain, and yet we, as a species, use it for stupid things
>>16477923>We probably did agriculture before we became homo sapienNo we didn't, faggot. No evidence of this crap.
>>16477903>every creature only has one goal and that is survivingwrong dumb nigger, its to reproduce, natural selection acts on genes that get carried over, not on just "surviving"
>>16477903Impulsive? Live in the present?Cause maybe that's the way it's supposed to be?Humans live in the abstract or with ideas. These ideas may or may not have any importance to the purpose of life. They are just things we make up and convince ourselves are true. When really we just made them up.Humans live impulsively as well. We are not as rational and logical as we think we are.
>>16477903Humans already came up with the ideas of the soul and afterlife.
>>16477903Natural selection filters disgenics out, leaving only traits that do not lower your chances of survival. It's not a conscious thing. There's no purpose to it, it's just how things are.Your consciousness and ability to reason exist because beings with this stuff are marginally better at surviving compared to automatons. However, consciousness and reason allow you to think and search for purpose without regards to survival.
>>16477903Yes. The majority of humans (up to 90%) are still impulsive like the other animals. They don't act out of fear of dying, going to jail and dying in jail, getting hurt and dying, losing job and dying. The resources LOOK like they are there so they consume without limit. Only a minority (without power) are concerned about long term survival and see the disadvantages of living like this. However their numbers are so small they can't compete with the impulsive majority and impulsive elite. The few people who care are the first of the next step in the ecological organization. Just like jellyfish cells started to synchronize to become a large organism instead of living goop, we are the first cells of the sensitive tissue of the biospheric organism. We are still in risk of getting extinct if we don't get the upper hand over impulsive niggers.
>>16478121Natural selection is just a response to the present environment. It doesn't favor any one trait over the other or care about chances of survival.
>>16477903Bears are as smart as people but they cant talk. If they could talk they could plan. You cant plan without words. There was a time when humans didnt talk, they would grunt, get agitated, spooked, happy or angry.
>>16477903Reproduction is the goal not survival
>>16478477Reproduction is shaped by survival. Nothing survives beyond the test of struggle.
Survival is just mythology for scientists where they can relate understandable concepts to biological processes which have concept of such things. The neurons and chemicals which makes you feel things do so because such traits were passed on to you from earlier generations generations, not because there is any intent for survival. Going by the theory of evolution anyway. Survival is incidental not a goal. Many mammals would plan if they could do advanced communication as already mentioned. Going by evolution, human beings do things for the same reason as animals — to feel good or to alleviate pain / pressure. Humans have advanced intellects which allow us to plan out feeling good or alleviating pain / pressure several steps in advance to achieve a more beneficial (from our perspective) outcome of pleasure / relief.
