Is physical therapy a respectable field or is it a meme?
>>16478212Dosent matter if you like it do it. No point in doing something you dont like you will just fuck up becous you dont care
>>16478212Yes, it's evidence-based and physical therapists are pretty well respected as professionals.
>>16478212that's more of a question for /fit/
>>16478581this. Don't fall for the chiropractor meme. Also get a doctorate in PT and you can piss off MDs
>>16478212Yes. You'll be doing something real and useful and there's good opportunities for going private. The drawback is that you'll meet Ms Fatty McLandmass every now and then who gives up after 20 seconds, blames the doctor, her genes and you for all her problems that her obesity causes. (The silver lining is you can still bill her as you tell her you think it's obesity related)
If you are good at your job, you will get patients who will see massive improvement within the first few weeks and sessions. And so long they see some improvement, or you can benchmark it for them... you will remain in a high position of trust. That alone makes it respectable.
>>16478212It's legit, but the degree inflation is off the charts. The "Doctor of Physical Therapy" is a scam and a half, but you now "need" it to run a clinic, so you have to pay through the nose for it. There's also lots of folks trying to get into it, so schools can afford to be very picky and they worship DEI above all else, so getting into a school may be tricky. That being said, they make decent money and do a lot of good for folks without just pumping them full of drugs or cutting on them over and over again. Go shadow at a clinic and see if you like it.
