As a SWE, would I gain anything by self studying math/physics?
My parents are math and physics professors and I feel kind of a midwit for only having and undergrad degree and in cs

your parents are math and physics professors but cant answer that question for you? What shithole school did your parents buy their degree from?
>>
>>16543426
The only thing that matters now is to make as much money as you can.

If you don't feel COMPELLED to study it for your own interest, or because your really enjoy the process of studying it, I would not bother. It's too much work unless you really want it. In other words, you should try and see if you like it. But impressing your parents will not be enough reason for most people to continue.

It's just that I feel like a midwit since there is virtually no math in this field

Every time I see that squirrel I want to power fuck a nerd girl.

Have you done calculus and linear algebra? Those can be useful even to a SWE.
>>
>>16544022
Of course I did
Everyone does as a freshman
>>
>>16543435
Do you feel smarter now anon?
>>
>>16544032
That's good. What about doing a small programming project that incorporates physics? Then maybe your parents could engage with it. For example a few body gravitation simulation produces some cool results without much difficulty.

My dad wanted me to help him convert a matlab program to python
Would that help?
>>
>>16544082
Yes. Sounds like a good place to start.
>>
>>16543426
You aren't doing real CS if you aren't a mathematician anyway
>>
>>16543426
>math
Maybe, but it's a long shot
>>16543426
>physics
Most definitely no
>>
>As a SWE, would I gain anything by self studying math/physics?
no not really lmao
>>16543891
who gives a shit? seriously
be happy you have an fairly easy and high-paying job and didn't waste your time on a phd
>>
>>16543426
>midwit
>cs undergrad
I don't think you've earned the title of midwit yet
>>
Can't stand people who look like that, just sickening
>>
>>16543426
If you have a job then you have no need to study anything
