what's life in alaska like, for y'all? i know there's an outdoor lifestyle n shit but for folks who dont leave except for supplies, is it lonely? what a re the people like to date? does hookup culture exist when the population basically knows each other? ow do yall manage boredom?
>>
>>33585781

also, what are the natives like? i dated a handful in the south west and the diff clanners were a bit different. some mean, some doormats. all def approaching hypertension and spandex.

anchorage is lower 48 except right next to a lot of cool outdoors shit
fairbanks is cold dixieland where the winters are dark and nothing works right
i used to be someone who lived alone around remote upper susitna and it was extremely lonely and depressing. I got to know the people around me and we all have extremely high trust with each other.

i spent almost all day
>cooking
>melting or hauling water
>clearing snow off my shit before it disappears
>clearing snow off roof
>clearing snow off trail
>clearing snow so i can see out my windows (my cabin's floor was 4 feet off the ground lmao)
>spending all day going to anchorage or wasilla for big shopping
>spending 3-8 hours going to the nearby town for small shopping, bars, hauling shit from my truck (snowmachine or fourwheeler)
>countless hours fixing broken shit, which i found enjoyable
>cleaning so that animals don't get into my shit again
>working on cabin and various projects

it was very lonely and i was usually very drunk the whole day. i wasn't the only one in my area that had a drinking problem.

I had fun riding around on snowmachines in winter, shooting, playing guitar, browsing 4chan when i got internet, watching movies my friends brought me, and cooking the best meals i could. sometimes you got the chance to help your neighbor out with projects or getting unstuck, sometimes you get invited to their house for a hot meal and some drinks.

as far as natives, hardly anyone dates them but natives. it isn't worthwhile and there aren't a lot of them at dating age
i have a preference for out of state women after noticing the pattern of alaska women generally being terrible

your life sounds so cool and i bet your cabin is so cozy
>>
>>33591623
it's very cozy now that it is optional but i got mad cabin fever having to live in it alone for a few years
>>
>>33591663
Any pictures?
>>
>>33591899
i'm on a new computer but maybe i can upload some later
unfortunately i won't be posting pics of the cabin itself because it is a bit doxxable (my irl friends post here)

recently been accepted to UAA as a transfer student. dont know why i applied, but should i take the risk and go for it? i see some anons on here live up there, and im interested in meeting more people at pubs/bars , plus enjoying the silent nature and woods. ive been admitted as a transfer student. i saw another anon ask some questions about how life is there, but i wanted to ask about the university i was admitted too. Hows UAA? has anyone attended?

as a native we keep'em in the family lol
But in all seriousness most of the good ones are mostly in villages, the city dwellers are either alcoholics or snob nosed brats.
