22 yo male here, boomer dad refused to believe how bad the job market is in our small California college town and kicked me out, had no choice but to stay with drug addict aunt near la and I can't take it anymore the house is falling apart and filthy and for some god-damned reason she leaves the back door open all the time and the mosquitoes are eating me alive. I really need somewhere to stay somewhere near la. I have less than 1k left but I swear I will start looking for a job asap and I can help with chores and stuff too I have a car and I can drive, really desperate rn
Your situation sucks, it really fucking does, and I wish I could offer a place but I can't. If you have a phone, a car, and a will to work, put your resume into every fucking temp agency you can find, and ideally ask for night shift jobs. Those temp agency guys get commission when they get you hired so they work hard to get you interviews. That will keep you inside somewhere and warm during the night. Get a planet fitness membership and that's your showers. God speed man.

If all else fails, you can get a UPS STore mailbox for like $25 per month depending on where you live. That's probably the best option, since you can also receive packages there. I was in your place once, but I made it eventually. LA is hard mode, but also kind of nice in a way since the weather is much better there than in NY.Going to the national forest was the right move. Avoid homeless shelters, skid row, and the like. You'll only get stabbed. Gaslight yourself (and others) into thinking this is an extended camping trip. Keep clean, invest in camping gear, and try to blend-in with the Patagonia-wearing roasties.
