I don't really even see the point of this website or any kind of friend-finding anywhere anymore. I would like to preface this statement with another statement: that I am not calling out anyone. I am not angry at anyone. Nothing dramatic has happened to me nor am I bitter about any of my past contacts. The chances of me actually finding a friend who has interest in speaking to me, the capacity to hold conversations with me, and the free time to speak to me as much as I would like, are slim to none and I do not blame people for being themselves. That would be hypocritical, as ultimately I am also at peace with what I am like.The majority of those who have added me from here have barely done me the courtesy of introducing themselves which is the basic level of respect I'd expect from someone I just met and would like to talk to. I really am not exaggerating when I say that there's dozens of people who open with completely bare introductions that are shockingly scarce on any actionable information. Even when I explicitly requested it. On the other hand, talking about my own interests or just whatever is on my mind usually results in them not even having the common decency to even read all of it.So, I don't have enough information to curtail what I talk about to be interesting to whom I talking to, and simultaneously the other side does not find interesting what I am thinking about. Even if you get past this level, usually the other person simply does not have the amount of energy to talk about common interests that I do. I either have a talent for finding the one thing that people respond to with one-liners and absolutely no added information of their own until they inevitably stop responding altogether.Yet if you get past that level, ultimately these people will lose interest within a few months and move on, or something will come up in their life, they get busy, and that's it. How do you make lasting friends?

I think there may be some pressure placed unknowingly in a one to one setting that feels more personal and is often reserved for family and a romantic partner. This is what I've observed; feel free to add any comment. I've noticed that when someone gets a partner, they dwindle from one on one contact and prefer group settings instead.

Here's a few. The stupid way we've allowed the modern economy to develop, forcing people to ruin any chance at fulfilling, meaningful lives in order to experience even a little bit of fleeting comfort and a fake sense of achievement. The wasted chances to change any of it for the better as people focus on superficial things rather than electing better leaders. Importing millions of foreigners for the benefit of the system depressing wages and putting them into a situation where their best interest is to turn against us, thus creating a perpetually hostile class at home to prevent any meaningful mass political collaboration for things to improve. The countless people who have boundless energy and passion who could do might things instead grinding at a shot at being #1 in areas that are ultimately just a popularity contest decided not even by the masses but by those who entertain the masses. Or those who sell their souls and instead do horrible things to other people or allow things to be done to people so they don't even need to have passion or talent to achieve that #1 spot./soc/ is a tiny, tiny place. All of the problems with it are petty problems compared to any of the problems of the rest of this world.
