I don't rate our squad, we've got some good players, but there's never been a manager capable of knitting everything together and dealing with the egos. We don't have a proper LW and nobody knows what the correct midfield should be. Southgate tried to shoehorn Foden and Bellingham and it didn't really work.

Brazil, Germany and Italy are the clear favourites. The Brazilians have flair, but if they get too flashy it might get them in trouble. The Italians are good too, but they're too defensive. The Germans might have the upper hand because of their physical game and tactical discipline.
>>
>>150551790
Muh heritage Amerilarper. Realistically I think Spain is the strongest contender. I don't want Portugal to make it far as every thirdie ronaldo fan would never shut up about it (even though Portugal plays better when he's not on it). Their midfield is good, but Ronaldo, Joao Felix (if he plays) and Leao will choke.
>>
>>150552412
>Midfield should be
Not sure why Southgate didn't start Palmer. Sure he was new but he performed well in general. Bellingham is good too but ghosts in big games, Cole does not (see Conference League and Euro 2024)
>>
We need a few players to step up in the first place, and Nagelsmann has to really find another brain area or something to make everything work. Our attack is pretty grim, and I don't see us play with wing-/fullbacks now that Kimmich is supposed to play in midfield again. You can't show up and hope to do well at a World Cup with Brown/Raum and Henrichs/[there literally is nobody for the right side]
It's theoretically possible to shithouse our way to a World Cup, but that would require the old German virtues this generation seems incapable of
>>

Palmer was breaking through at the time and played the Euros final. If Tuchel can keep Bellingham's ego contained then he'll be alright.

>>150553137
>Not sure if they'll do that when the Lamine cash cow is right there
Lamine can wait. He still has multiple World Cups ahead of him. If Portugal win, they can push forward the narrative that "Messi won his final World Cup cementing his status as the greatest of all, HOWEVER..." which would open room for more stupid debates on the internet over who contributed more to their respective teams' World Cup wins. Also Diego Xota.
>>

If spain are still playing pep ball then their days are numbered going by the evidence present in club football. I haven't watched spain for years, so I don't know. I'm just shitposting a prediction if a condition is met.
>>
>>150552970
The Dutch teams were better in the old days when the dutchies were stereotypically confident and always thought their team had a chance. Since the final v spain it's not been the same imo. Maybe even leading up to it with the debates over the playing styles. The 80s to 2000s dutch fans were arrogant about football and the teams could beat anyone. It worked well tbf.

It 100% doesn't matter who the "favourites" are or how well they did at the last Euros/World Cup. It's not like club football in that sense. What matters is how players are in shape at the moment of the competition. You have to develop a tournament team that works.

>>150552244
I look like this and say this
>>
>>150549154
with the new format. on average the teams in group a if they reach the final will have 4.75 days of rest between games
the previous world cup, the group A teams had 4 days of rest between games, teams from other groups have even less days of rest between games.

anyway on average teams will rest more. that's important because the technical teams who doesn't really really on physicality tend to struggle with world cup formats as they'd get tired over time and lose lots of their qualities after several games being played. so teams who are technical and who rotate their players a lot will do well in the 2026 world cup. teams that have a strong starting 11 with a poor bench won't win.

spain showed the most versatility gameplay wise lately, maybe germany too. the strong favourites are spain, maybe netherlands, germany...well anyway I say spain got the best chance, especially with yamal being insanely promoted by everybody and he's sponsored by adidas, the world cup sponsor....
>>
>>150567058
>maybe Netherlands
France is a strong contender to get far at least.
>Won 2018 with old guard
>Finals 2022 WC

I wonder if Ancelotti can do anything with Brazil, but their midfield and defense is atrocious. Casemiro and Thiago Silva are geriatrics, although latter did well with Fluminese. Realistically I see Portugal more of a contender than them, even Ecuador.
>>

>>
>>150566258
England are more compelling and people hardly ever assume the Spurs will win anything. Nobody ever says "Liverpool, City, Tottenham" at the start of the season. Brazil is being rated here due to the poor managership. Our managers were always extremely stubborn Brazilian League shitters that are constantly fired and rehired by local teams, not even tier 2 European league teams seek them.

We now have a manager who won the French League, Bundesliga, La Liga, the Italian League, the Premier League and 5 Champions League, apart from being having won World's best manager 4 times.

I do believe Brazil is a top 3 contender right now. It's no coincidence that before Ancelloti arrived, Brazil couldn't go two consecutive games without suffering a single goal for over a year, that has changed.
>>
>>150568004
He’s managed two games, I wouldn’t get too excited just yet.

I don’t know how the Brazilian public view the team but as an outsider it looks dogshit. Players in that squad wouldn’t be fit to clean the boots of Brazilian players 15-20yrs ago.
>>
Portugal is the dark horse.
>>
>>150568071
No Brazilian will look you in the eyes and say with a straight face they think the players are good. Richarlison, Guimarães, Cunha, Estêvão, Joelinton, Andrey, Vanderson, Wesley, they're all shit. Not mediocre, just absolutely terrible.
But if you ask them about Brazil collectively, the cognitive dissonance kicks in and they'll say something completely deranged like "we have a good chance now that we have a great manager". It's like the Brazilian mind cannot process the fact that we're just not good enough. Our players are shit. If they do admit, there's the final and unbreakable cope that "everyone said we couldn't win in 2002" which will be uttered without thinking for a second about how ridiculous this sounds.

The problem here is that you're a low IQ favela monkey, and you can't comprehend simple facts.

If having legendary players was enough to win a World Cup, why did Brazil fail in 2006? And it wasn't a spectacular fight to the end, it was a sad, boring 1-0 loss to France after the Brazilian team was cucked the entire match by Zidane.

Why would Ancelotti coach Brazil if he didn't believe it was possible? He won everything, he old fuck is rich beyond belief, he doesn't need Brazil, not for a single moment.

The thing here is: you're a black favela nigger and Ancelotti is a white European coach that won everything. You have a brain that isn't able to process basic thinking, so don't fool yourself by believing you can predict a tactical game.

Well, considering from where he's coming from, that's pretty much Carlo's specialty.

That's not wrong and what's more its correct, but it's a different perspective to the point I made. I never really think England will win it at the start. Ive always thought Argentina had a chance and sometimes holland, spain or france depending on which decade. So I stand by my original opinion fren. Fun question...If England are not the Tottenham of inties then who do you think is?

Maybe Dinoguay. After 1950 they're always there but never actually win nor are expected to.

They're just S-tier haters. Humiliated Argentina in 1930, irreversibly broke Brazil in 1950 and disappeared from football forever. They already accomplished everything they wished for.

Argentina are pounding Venezuela by 3-0 while we're holding onto a narrow 1-0 lead against the worst Chile of all times.
If you seriously think we have a chance, kill yourself before it's too late.

expected ones to win it
>S tier
Spain, Germany
>A tier
France, Brazil, Argentina, England
>B tier
Portugal, Italy, Netherlands

if they win it it'll be unexpected but it'll make some manner of sense
>C tier
Croatia, Japan, Uruguay, Morocco, Colombia, Belgium
>D tier
Ecuador, USA, Mexico, Iran, Senegal, S. Korea, Austria, Denmark, Turkey, Switzerland, Australia
>E tier
Egypt, Serbia, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Panama, Paraguay

they won't win it
>F tier

Also IMO Portugal shouldn't be that low
>>

Germany always seems to be a really threatening team, last euros they were not finalists only because they had to go against Spain early
i was considering putting Portugal on A but ehh, maybe instead England should go down with them in B
also Belgium should be D, not C

Belgium will be considerably stronger in 2026 compared to the Qatar world cup
We got rid of nearly all the old players, we finally have a great left back in Maxime De Cuyper after 20 years without one and Malick Fofana look like a Doku 2.0 but with a brain
If De winter and Openda do well with AC milan and Juventus we could actually have a very decent team

Midfield won't be a problem we just need to choose 3 from KDB/Tielemans/Raskin/Onana/Romeo Lavia (if he stop being injured)

Not saying we will win it but we'll be far better than in 2022
