Baseball has a lot of randomness in it, and you need the the high data pool of 162 games to prevent anomalies. Baseball being dead in September boils down to the same shitty teams in low markets being out of it by September. Beyond the obvious solutions to this issue, the most efficient and achievable one that makes the most sense is to have a high amount of playoff teams to where all you need to do is hover around .500 to punch your ticket to the playoffs. This would not only possibly incentivize even the shittiest owners like Bob Nutting to push his chips to the table more often and spend more, but it'd keep interest high into autumn even if a team is below .500 because they could still make a run in September. Beyond that, having a challenge system for balls & strikes will be huge in 2026 in fixing the sport.
