Dorking Wanderers confirm that 54 year old staunch support Terry Dunn has signed for the club, on a temporary basis, in light of the unfortunate news that first-team goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes has suffered a spleen injury and will be out of action for up to four weeks. "Terry Dunn is set to make his debut at Meadowbank this Saturday as we face AFC Totton in the National League South."Dorking will announce a new loan goalkeeper on Monday, on a four-week deal.Dunn retired as a keeper in 1997. On signing for the club: “Playing in goal is like riding a bike – you never forget it. I still regularly play walking football. As a Wanderers fan, no one will be trying harder than me to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.”Club Chairman and First-Team Manager Marc White added: “In an era where passion comes in low quantities, what Terry lacks in mobility, he’ll make up for in heart – and for one game, we’re just going to have to get on with it.”Dorking Wanderers started out as a Sunday League team and joined the main pyramid, getting promoted a dozen or so times to the National League before being relegated last season

>>150581515They’re a zoomer commercialised brainrot non-league side that have monetised online content to fund their promotions up the leagues. Not organic or soulful
HERE WE GO
>>150581604>nooo you can't appeal to a wide audience though innovative marketing methods!!!>you have to run your club like it's the 1960's!!!
>>150581495Gutted, keepers probably our best player. Big shoes to fill
We don’t give a dorking crud
>>150581604If they got promoted through memes like this, then I'm sorry to report that they are actually incredibly based and there's nothing you can do about it.
>>150581495>National League South6th tier? That's quite a challenge for a guy in his 50s, godspeed. Nice story, I hope it ends somewhat wellMy village's club plays in the 8th tier (we have more of them than you do, so the level of play should be lower since the quality spreads across more clubs), and they used to field a guy in his 50s in goal sometimes when no one else was available. Dude was a beast, probably still is. His anticipation and positioning were so good he could make up for the severe lack of explosive power, but he could still dash out a nice flying save when it really mattered. But 6th tier might be too much to ask ...
>Dunn, 54, whose former clubs include the now extinct North Holmwood FC, joins the playing squad on a temporary basis. The stopper was a multiple promotion winner with several local clubs before hanging up his gloves in 1997.So it's not like he's a 54-year-old former goalie for Reading or Bournemouth or somewhere. This guy was a nobody even when he was good. I'm not optimistic.
>Dorking Wanderers vs. AFC TottonDo you think we can find a stream?
Must be for PR, they've got a B Team and extensive youth academy they could use, rather than giving this old cunt a run out.
>>150581495TOTTON MENTIONED
>>150585309How longs that you been waiting for this halcyon moment Tottonanon?
>>150581604oh. yeah let's post about messi/ronaldo again in that case.

>>150581495he'll pull at least three muscle groups within the first five minutes.
Reminder that 6th tier in England is higher level than the women's world cup.
