Are we still consider them failed generation, if they were playing in the era of Messi, Cr Ronaldo, Mbappe and prime Spain?
>>
>>150620560
They could have won 2014 or 18
>>
>>150620560
You could say they were in good…Kompany
>>
yes
>>
>>150620560
>playing in the era of Messi, Cr Ronaldo, Mbappe and prime Spain?
They got knocked out of the Euros by Wales, mate.
>>
>>150620560
>era of Messi, Cr Ronaldo, Mbappe and prime Spain
it was always gonna be somebody else's era no matter when they played
>>
>>150620560
They were chokers all too often. Their golden ticket was 2016, and then they lost to Wales. In 2014 and 2018, they lost to the first serious opponents they met with the exception of Brazil. There's just not enough there to say they always challenged the top teams and would have ended up with various titles if it hadn't been for freaks of nature standing in their way - and why would we excuse their chokes with Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappé, or anyone? Every era has great players and teams, and Belgium failed to beat those in their era for the most part because they simply weren't quite there
>>
>>150620560
they could have won in 2018 I guess, but we had our best defensive performance of the decade by far on that game for some reason
>>
>>150620560
They won the bronze medal. It's good enough.
>>
>>150622402
Not enough. Everyone still considers them failed generation.
>>
>>150620977
They dabbed on England two times during the cup in 2018
>>
FUCK belgie and the waffles. JAPAN nearly should have won that game.
>>
>>150622043

They got lucky against Brazil in 2018
>>
>>150620560
Comeback against Japan was crazy tho, I was jumping on my sofa to that "NASSER CHAD-LI!"
>>
>>150620560
The globohomos massively overyhyped them because they started putting more youths into their squad. They did the same thing in the women's euro with Iceland. Ironically Lookaku cost them something like 20 goals by being offside all the time and chimping out every time VAR disallowed his retarded ass bullshit goals.
>>
Yes. 100%
That team was comically stacked. They didnt even make one final in one of the major 2 tournaments. They had Hazard, KDB, Courtois, Lukaku. And so much more talent. This team shouldve won at least 3 major trophies. By FAR the biggest waste of talent this century
>>
In 2014 we were one of the youngest team to ever go to a world cup, lost 1-0 to Argentina the finalist

In 2016 we were missing 75% of our defense (kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen) against Wales, it's too much for a country like us

In 2018 we should have won, I guess we would have won with Nainggolan, Mertens and Meunier in the team for the semi-final

2021 we lost by 1 goal against to Italy the winner, without Hazard and KDB injured

We're just unlucky
>>
>>150638720
2022 is usually counted as last golden generation tournament despite KDBs retarded nah were too old comment
>>
>>150637220
Ok 3 is a gross exaggeration, these are difficult to win but they entered 5 tournaments when they were considered world class. 1 trophy couldve been expected
>>
>>150634726
lol no, they were clearly superior to them, Hazard was insane in 2018 and specially in the WC
>>
>>150640915
peak hazard was the best player not named messi or cristiano
>>
>>150620560
Lacked a good 6.
I guess Axel Witsel counts but all I remember him doing was splitting Wasilewski's leg open.

Definitely should've won more, I don't think any national team has been so stacked up front.
>>
>>150620560
They had Roberto Mrtinez as the coach for most part
>>
>>150620560
Because they couldn't even win a damn Nations League.
