Has any other fanbases in the history of sports suffered as much as bears fans?

Will it ever get any better?

How the fuck do you cope with this shit?
>>

Being a bears fan is truly suffering
Never had a good QB ever
>>
Hot Take: The only fanbases that really suffer here are ones of teams that make /pol/tards seethe. The most privileged ones are le likable irrelevant teams that actually have suffered when not posting on this hellsite.

Bears fans being drama queens as usual. You might not even be top 3 in the NFL, much less all sports. You actually have an iconic super bowl winning team. You played in a super bowl as recently as 2007.

For the sake of expediency, I'm going to just talk about the Browns since they're clearly #.The Browns have never even been to a super bowl, much less won one. Their team packed up and left and they simply didn't exist for a few years. Then they got a expansion team as a replacement. The former Browns became the Ravens and won multiple super bowls. The replacement franchise, again, has never made one. At one point they went 1-15, kept their coach anyway, then went 0-16 the next year.

The Bears' struggles to find a qb are similar to the Browns', except the Browns have been doing this this since Bernie Fucking Kosar. At least the Bears had Cutler for a while. The Browns drafted a legitimately good qb for the first time in ages, won a playoff game with him, decided for some inexplicable reason that they hated him and wanted him to die, let him walk as a free agent so they could sign an unironic serial rapist to the most brutal contract in NFL history and now they guy they spent more money on than anyone in the history of football cant even play and the guy they drafted #1 overall is probably going to win his division again and is a dark horse MVP candidate. And the real gut punch is that the team is actually good and would be competitive if they had a viable young qb. Like the one they gave away for nothing.

Imagine if Caleb not only led the Bears to the Playoffs but won a game, and then the next year for no reason the Bears play him with multiple injuries like they're trying to derail his career. And then they trade him and give the Dolphins four first round picks for Tua. Except Tua is making even more money and is a rapist. Oh, and your one legendary super bowl team? Never happened. THAT's the Browns. Bears fags are amateur sufferers.

well two teams in their division have suffered worse

Quite the victim mentality considering that there's plenty of NFL franchises who have experienced a fraction of what bears have done in the past
>>

I often feel inclined to say that NFL fans can't suffer because their franchises cannot get relegated, and shitty performances get rewarded with draft picks and so on. On first glance, it feels impossible for an NFL fan to suffer more than a fan of a relevant football club that gets relegated multiple times and ends up stuck in a lower tier, much to the chagrin of everyone else
But I admit that it's a matter of perspective. Because all franchises make profits and have singular owners, where's the incentive to actually succeed? Getting stuck in some sort of limbo forever despite draft picks and so on while other franchises actually go through cycles and show good performances for a while must really hurt
>>
>>150707284
Fucked up the sentence so that the fancy word chagrin means the exact opposite of what I wanted to say
... to the chagrin of everyone involved with the club and the delight of everyone else

Teams are required to spend at least 89% of the cap per year and must spend at least 95% of the cap on average over a four-year period. NFL teams aren't able to sit back and just spend little and rake in a ton of profit, being good also greatly increases profit... so it is in their best interest to be good. Teams suck largely because of their own incompetence, with the same owners making bad hires and not facilitating a good culture throughout the organization.
>>
>>150706695
so does the fucking Cubs too
>>
>>150701704
Raiders have it worse
>>
>>150707284
This is why we need relegation in the NFL.
>>
My team set records for being the worst over a 10 year period and then fucked off. I would say that's worse than the Bears.

When Hamburg, a big traditional heavyweight, got relegated for the first time in 2018, after 131 years and as the last surviving founding member of the Bundesliga, it was a huge happening. There was a massive stadium chimpout with a lot of black smoke rising, police on the pitch with horses and riot troops. You could tell it had an effect on the entire city and all of northern Germany. Countless scenes of players and fans crying, of course. And a LOT of seething. Sports media had a lot of fun shitting on the club for years of absolutely shit work leading to this slow and painful decline. And other fan scenes cheered and jeered to their hearts' content on the internet and elsewhere. In cities that have traditional rivalries with Hamburg, fans lighted fireworks and partied
And since Hamburg managed to choke promotion in the most retarded and unprecedented way possible for six years straight (they always sat on a promotion spot for like 90% of the season before bottling it in the final few weeks, especially against the small shitter clubs that aren't on their level in the slightest), things didn't get better. It was the gift that kept on giving, although only the absolute mega haters refused to acknowledge Hamburg as a key member of an "ideal Bundesliga". They finally pulled it off in dramatic fashion last season, and it was a huge happening as well
Alemannia Aachen went from the Bundesliga to the 4th tier (which is divided into five regional leagues) in a few years, going bankrupt twice. They were this close to getting relegated to the 5th tier, which would have killed the club for sure. They got clowned hard by all their rivals as well, getting stucked in the 4th tier for 11 years. They also got promoted recently.
I'm sure you could make great use of pro/rel with your banter. Teams getting rewarded for shit performances doesn't feel right. But owners won't risk relegation since it's a financial risk

CPOTY: Caleb Williams

Williams is entering year 2 where things often click for QBs. His WRs are upgraded with the tandem of Rome Odunze and DJ Moore being better than most can ask for. The WR they drafted, Olamide Zaccheaus, is a legit deep threat that they can rotate out with a true X in Devin Duvernay depending on the situation. Most importantly they landed the best Tackle in the draft who will solidify the right side of the line, but possibly play all around it wherever necessary.
The Bears are going to score points, that much is known, they put up points with an actual garbage Offense last year but just couldn't overcome the defense. Thankfully, they've made several key additions. They have objectively the best and deepest LB room in the league, which doesn't mean as much as it used to but in Dennis Allen's system LBs are largely impactful. They triple tapped at DT in the draft which is the engine of this scheme and will be able to create a constant wave of consistent play each game with the depth that was already there. It's not much but it's enough to take pressure off the honestly great secondary which was the only bright spot on defense last year.
Most importantly it's enough to make sure the Bears will actually be able to close out games this year. With Rodgers gone the division is basically ours, and with the NFC being so garbage the Conference should belong to us as well. Sorry Packers fans but Love has zero DAWG in him unlike Williams.
