As far as I'm aware, I'm the one who blogposts most about Joyce (worthless direish pseud)

>>150715022
immigration has basically nothing to do with house prices, and we also have an economy that is reliant on mass immigration in order to stay afloat
we're suffering from the results of decades of neol*beral economic policy that won limited short term gains at the cost of our future not migration
>>
house prices also exploded during covid and the ukraine war when there was basically no migration because the driver has been the inability to build any houses due to labour shortages (in part because of the lack of migration and supply chain issues. most home builders are still trying to complete contracts signed in 2020.
>>
>>150715306
I didnt say that immigration caused housing prices.
I think we probably have quite differing views on whats caused some of these issues.
One thing I think is quite crazy is how all of the west just naively accepted that the only way to manage stagnant population was through immigration, when a lot of countries have shown that subsidising families is also effective (albeit much more recently than when these conversations were being first held in the political world).
I'd also love for the world to solve the problem of economies requiring an ever growing labour force, which is unsustainable long term (probably longer term than we need to worry about)
>>
>>150715377
I agree but it's stupid to suspend immigration without having already a proven model to increase birth rates locally
it's a structural issue and one that requires a fundamental readjustment of our economic system to correct. people should be recognising that reality and not blaming it all on the migrant boogeyman
>>
Three lines or fewer champ
>>
>>150715294
Which team?
The mighty Pearsmen? Worcestershire County Cricket Club?
We're through to the one-day cup trophy final* against Hampshire on September 20th (likely to rain all day), all of /cricket/ is invited to a watch party (don't think I'll be there as it's the end of season thing at my own club)

* Bit of a pointless trophy now, because it takes place at the same time as the H*ndred so most counties have their 5-6 best players all playing in that instead, so it's mostly made up of 2nd XI players and solid county pros who can't score fast enough for the T20/T16.4 nonsense
>>
>>150715390
My issue with immigration has nothing to do with jobs or the economy
I dont think I know enough about the speed with which a subsidy system could be spun up and start producing results to agree or disagree with the idea of pausing immigration immediately, but id wager that a government that *wants* to make it happen could achieve it quicker than you expect

Although, having said that, in this particular role one of my main responsibilities is just assigning new tickets (40-50 per day) to a team of runts while doing almost none of them myself, so I have sort of found myself in the useless managerial class

I can understand the criticism of the budget ayahuasca, although that was just one night of a 4-day Amazon excursion that I would have done anyway, so it's not like it had any adverse impact on the itinerary

But one thing I don't understand is this idea that going white water rafting and paragliding in the extreme sports capital of Colombia (San Gil) is somehow a bad choice, I had a great time

Only somebody who has completely lost their lust for life would ever entertain such a bonkers idea, which is one of the many reasons that this post was written by zachy

Mad how the Pears have had literally the best bowling attack (in terms of cricketing statistics) in the entire Div 1 and yet we're still going to be relegated as dead last in the league

Perhaps if I share with them my muscular 2nd XI average I'll have a chance of opening alongside Libby next year

Worcs don't seem a very cricket-oriented county (like say Yorkshire or Hampshire) but do produce some decent players desu. bit like Durham innit. not much interest but just naturally decent at the game

Although Kirk was a staunch defender of Israel, he also shared some critical views of the Israeli government. Shortly after the October 7 attacks on Israel in 2023, Kirk had promoted a conspiracy theory alleging the Israeli government knew that Hamas was going to launch the attack, and that Netanyahu allowed it to go ahead as part of a plan to remain in power.[179] Shortly before his death, he suggested that Jeffrey Epstein was an Israeli intelligence agent.[176]

Complete focus on productivity but with little regard for how his team are feeling, and a bit of an obstinate attitude when you politely explain to him that you can't do seven things at once whilst also meeting his directive not to rack up any more flexi hours

Perhaps the only way to truly balance the pros and cons of the male and female managerial styles is to have troon bosses - I'll see if I can promote my toon underling henceforth

Don’t think you can be a County with a first class club that doesn’t have some strong cricket culture and there’s others without which do as well (Northumberland, Norfolk and Staffs). That being said Worcs have always relied relatively heavier than most on foreign (in the sense of from outside the county itself) players.
