However, I personally do not engage in the communal viewing of sports with my family and would prefer not to share that interest with a spouse.My perspective is that the passive consumption and active following of professional sports through visual media can be detrimental to family cohesion.My own interest in sports is primarily analytical and data-driven. I find value in studying the numbers, statistics, and standings rather than the live broadcast.
