Aomori prefecture has had a rikishi in Makuuchi for over a century straight. At present there's only one in Makuuchi, Takerufuji who's going to be dropping down. The only way this record can be maintained is if Nishikifuji at J3w gets promoted. He's 3-1 currently. Takarafuji is also from Aomori and in Juryo but he's 1-3 at J12e.
