Headers in football need to be banned, they cause CTE.
>be defender>wear padded headband for games>problem solved
>>150853736the headband would have to be soft enough to completely absorb the shock of the ball
>>150852642yeah but players who go for headers are more likely to smash their heads onto other players' head or shoulders, maybe that's what causes CTE rather than heading the ball?
>>150852642The one that always comes to mind for me is Titus Bramble
ban tackles or make them play in plastic bubbles
BAN ALL SPORTSBAN ANYTHING THAT COULD CAUSE ANY INJURYWE MUST NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE
God forbid the multimillionaire athletes have extremely slim chances of developing health complications in the future.
>>150855766This affects more than the athletes, it also effects millions of children around the world who spend dozens of hours a week playing football, most of them just for fun or just to stay fit, a few of them with the aim of becoming professional footballers some day. But even if they stop playing football as adults the damage from thousands of sub-concussive blows over the course of many years racks up, CTE is irreversible. The chances of getting CTE as a footballer aren't slim, CTE is insidious in that its difficult to diagnose, the only way to clinically identify it is after death with a brain autopsy, before that the sufferer might be showing general signs of depression, mood instability, forgetfulness, without any clear answer of what's happening to them.
>>150855850not to mention the broken bones and hamstring injuries. we should just ban sports altogether and stay inside so we don't catch any viruses
>>150855895>broken bones and hamstring injuries. Those aren't as bad as CTE, the latter is irreversible, even if you stopped making headers the damage is done. I'm not saying to ban sports altogether, I'm saying just change the rules of football, something that's been done many times before, to ban headers. Banning headers will have only a minor effect on football as a game but it will save millions of people from developing CTE, no more will players do stupid heading exercises during training that involve hundreds of sub-concussive blows to their brains.
>>150855920This has already been addressed in the USAI coach youth soccer and at least in this country you aren’t allowed to head the ball in practice at all as a kid, they stress that to all coachesYou also can’t head the ball in games until high school
>>150855763That's right, chud. #StayAtHome
>>150852642Even you guys have this CTE discussion? When I played soccer as a kid we did head it, catch it every practice, how are Alphakids this soft?
>>150855606It's literally your head hitting anything. You do it enough times this will happen.
>>150852642I took a free kick to the head once. Maybe that's why I'm a loser
>>150855763There's a difference between breaking a bone and damaging your brain, retard. It probably happened to you already.
>>150860402My head hits my pillow every day. This seems bad.
>>150852642Its too early to determine what player percentages in soccer have CTE. There isn't even a proper study yet from Brain Banks on soccer players. Players don't head the ball that often in training or matches unlike in rugby/American football where head on collisions are commonplace. Only time will tell if it does have affect
>>150857930and you ended up here
Can't wait for Wayne Rooney to go full Chris Benoit on Colleen and Kai.
