Do any of you work in a sporting industry? Is it cool?If not, what would you like to do? Coaching, marketing, stadium/arena technician, statistics, etc? How about chill sporting/athletic businesses? Chill or chaotic?
Ive worked as trainer for a travelling national team. What I got was the same benefits as players with minimal game day pay, but the extras was the bonus thing>3 weeks overseas hotels and transport/flights>all meals provided with team plus formal host banquets incl alcohol>full team uniform, 2x new trainers, tracksuits etc. also team suits and leather shoes, tie, beltall up it was worth about $20k for maybe a weeks work but it was better than a holiday. I was essentially part of the managing/coaching group of 10. got to walk on behind the players into huge stadiums. walk around for 15min prior to start and national anthems. good fundone this twice
>>150972995You could have used that opportunity to blackmail players, setting up hidden cameras, etc.
>>150971192I work in marketing/press work for a German pro club. Traditionally a relatively big club from a pretty large city. But not a total heavyweight, and >we don't play in the Bundesliga or the 2nd BundesligaIt's partially very chill and partially not chill at all. The majority of the things I write is bland marketing stuff, it's not very demanding and feels very shallow at times. Gotta appeal to the masses after all. Working with sponsors and fans face-to-face is much cooler because you actually see what the club means to people, that's actually very motivating. I'm best when I can bring in some emotions and history and tradition. Atmosphere is cool in general, the club is in a new phase of hope and growth. But the club is quite chaotic, and we've had our fair share of panic moments because the upper business level did something very stupid we couldn't contain with PR and press work. If you're a big name, there will always be forces from the region expecting you to dance to their tuneI have nothing to do with the sports team itself, and that's probably for the better. It's even more volatile
