>We should be evaluating our performances this season by combining qualitative (the eye test) and quantitative (stats and analytics) information and combining both to form a reasonable opinion. When doing so there is a clear trajectory of improvement across 5 games, 3 of which were against CL opposition no less. We dominated Arsenal and were unlucky to not get three points out of the fixture, never mind one point. We just defeated Chelsea and are an extremely rare Bruno penalty miss from being on the periphery of the top 4 after the most difficult part of our schedule already behind us. That's an encouraging start to the season, which by the way happened without the full availability of Cunha or Mount. The challenge going forward is to start putting some of the our many chances away.

You wouldn't know this but what happens in contact sports such as football is that players can be shoved and sometimes this leads to unavoidable collisions. Also grass when wet can become slippery, this has an affect on what scientists call "friction".

Our response, ABLbros?

You guys told me it was the end for Slot :(
>>
>>150999116
He's either lying or else just misunderstanding, it's normal for players who get a yellow to be internally fined, usually collected by the captain. It's not handled by the club. Same when they turn up late to training and all those sort of things.
It's then all used for Christmas parties for the staff and players or things like that.
>>
>>150999107
how is palmer injured? he was subbed off after 20 minutes last game and he was fit as a fiddle
>>
>Wirtz on his disappointing start to the season: "The coach told me that here in the squad, you don’t have to put any pressure on yourself about how much you cost or didn’t cost, because it feels like everyone around you could cost just as much if they were playing somewhere else."

- They lost their biggest star, Frank, to Spurs

- They lost their second biggest star, Mbeumo, to us

- They lost their third biggest star, Wissa, to Newcastle

- They lost their fourth biggest star (?) and captain, Noorgard, to Arsenal

- Their coach isn't really a coach

- They are in terrible form

Sesko is agent 007 if he doesn't get a g/a in this game.
>>
Will the media finally call out Wirtz if Sesko gets a goal or assist and Wirtz makes it to 007 status?
>>
>>151004760

The caveman brain in me says to try Mount at wing back because amad is shit there and he can actually keep crosses in the stadium unlike Dalot and Dorgu. So worried about Sesko not scoring I completely forgot about Cunha not scoring yet.

We would still be behind last season's total from the equivalent games, and we need to be miles ahead of last season's points overall. So, still not where we need to be. We can't fall into the trap of seeing things as being solid just because they are not historically awful like last year. Yoro is weak on set pieces if you pay attention, that chelsea goal would have been easily avoided if he jumped in time.

If Senne Lammens is proving day in day out in training that he can't supplant Bayindir or Onana as our Number 1, then he's a waste of a purchase. Just a Donny van de Beek at Goalkeeper. Why did we buy him if he's not good enough to start right away? If he even showed he was as good as Altay in training he'd probably be starting over him.

Anybody else finding ex-United players from the Ferguson era, being on every footballing podcast out there regurgitating the same old stories banal? To me it just feels like we are living in nostalgia, like a never ending loop, preventing us from moving on. No other club has their legends doing all of this. It unintentionally creates a narrative about the current team, that no matter how much try you can't match the glory days. They definitely have an impact on the club/players right now. Constantly spouting nonsense. For a start Neville should get off commentary for United games. Makes for very miserable watching

yeah. i actually dont mind roy keane but neville and ferdinand are REALLY bad about that. literally anything that happens they find a way to relate it back to when they played, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but when you do it for EVERYTHING it is very annoying. and scholes does it too to a lesser extent. i dont mind him as much though because i feel like i see him much less

Assuming you aren't talking to yourself, which of you Americans likes baseball and can recommend me a good baseball game (not a management one) and that doesn't come with a third party installer or launcher or whatever.
>>
>>151006622
not talking to myself, there are multiple american flags who post here.
baseball is similar to football in the sense there's like your fifa which is mlb the show and the nerd management one which is out of the park baseball (basically football manager but probably more autistic)
ive never played mlb the show idk if its good. i have played out of the park baseball for years and i would recommend it but you said not management, so as far as im aware mlb the show is your only option.
>>
>>151006622
>>151006694
sorry i should have added there's probably old games you can emulate or whatever... i grew up on pic related on gameboy. but i think in modern times you only have your fifa equivalent and your football manager equivalent like i said
>>
>>151006622
Haven't played one since Backyard Baseball when I was a kid, but that game was dope. You can probably get some of the old games as freeware.

>>151006787
backyard baseball was great. and on steam as of a few months ago too.
>>
>>151006694
>>151006730
>>151006787
I have ootp, but I've never ever played it. I'm much more of a casual baseball fan and nowhere near autistic enough for it. I'm not even autistic enough for FM anymore sadly.
MLB The Show isn't on Steam for some reason and while MLB The Rivals is, and is free, it's pretty much pay to win which is no surprise when it's free.
Backyard Baseball reminds me a bit of Pitch Hitter, which I used to fucking love, btw. Not even sure if that is still around because it was a Flash game and everything got fucked up with that html5 shit.
I think my only option without emulating is Super Mega Baseball 3. I can't get 4 because I wouldn't pay the price and it's fucking EA so you need accounts and launchers and all of that other bullshit. At least with 3 I can just get it from fitgirl. Seems like it has that weird NBA Playgrounds aesthetic though.
Feels like finding a good basedball game on PC is as hard as finding a good boxing game on PC.
Appreciate the help though. I hope your team win at the weekend (unless they're playing against my team).
>>
The Ogre gets a hattrick
>>
>>151006828
baseball is kinda weird that the games used to be pretty popular but compared to like madden for NFL or nba2k or whatever they just arent very popular anymore. which you could argue is also kinda the same with the sport in general, but that's a whole different discussion.
mlb the show is a console game through and through that's why it's not on steam, i dont think they've ever made a pc version. which to me is sad because i got into your football back in the day through fifa and then football manager on pc, was a gateway drug i guess and now i'm here 20+ years later. baseball hasn't been that great at doing actual licensed games that can get foreigners into it.
pic related and the gameboy one i posted earlier were probably the last non-OOTP baseball games i played
you mentioned super mega baseball im sure that's fun but it's not a MLB game if that makes sense
>>
>>151006932
That reminds me of the boxing games a bit where EA at least stopped giving a crud about boxing games after Fight Night Champion and started focusing purely on UFC. I can't really say for sure if UFC has surpassed boxing or not, at least in terms of viewership, but FNC was fucking 16 years ago. There's no conceivable way that EA doesn't have the money to do both.
I know with a lot of games they don't bring them to Steam because cheating would be too easy on PC, or that's what they say at least. Usually when they say that what they really mean is "cheating would impact our bottom line" when it's put across as more like "cheating wouldn't make it as fun for you guys :("
The last baseball game I think I played on a console was something on the PS1 and I can't even remember the name of it. Likely MLB something, a la Madden or FIFA.
I do agree that they partially bring about their own downfalls by making it more difficult for JFs to get into certain things which could potentially stop whatever that thing is from dying by opening up a whole new market. Instead they shit themselves to take any risk and it eventually dies.
>im sure that's fun but it's not a MLB game if that makes sense
Yeah I know what you mean. I wouldn't pay for it, but if it's free maybe it will scratch that itch for the time being. Since I'm not a full on fanatic maybe it will be fine because I have no idea who any of the players would be in an official MLB game anyway.
>>
>>151007218
>I know with a lot of games they don't bring them to Steam because cheating would be too easy on PC
well for baseball i think they dont put mlb the show on PC purely cause they dont think they'll sell and they don't want to waste money porting it over. and they're probably right that it wouldn't sell very well, i mean fifa which is worldwide obviously has always been a console game they treat PC players like second class citizens and always have
>I do agree that they partially bring about their own downfalls by making it more difficult for JFs to get into certain things which could potentially stop whatever that thing is from dying by opening up a whole new market. Instead they shit themselves to take any risk and it eventually dies.
you're right but luckily baseball will always be a thing, it's our pastime and yeah the NFL has obviously blown it out of the water in terms of ratings and stuff but it's part of our country and will always be a thing. funny enough part of the reason i got so attracted to english football in particular is the deep history going back to you know the 1860s 1870s or whatever, baseball has a similar depth of history and that was always part of the appeal for me. if anything baseball reveres history more than english football, we still talk about babe ruth or honus wagner or whoever, nobody really talks about the greats from the 1910s in english football (thanks a lot premier league)
i actually got into cricket within the past 5 or so years cause i think it's a fascinating sport, im sure there's a lot of bongs such as yourself that might feel the same way about baseball, all about marketing though and video games play a big part. i know they're doing the whole MLB series in london or whatever i doubt that's very popular

if nuno was 100% confirmed or they were happy to go ahead without it being 100% because potter was seen as worse than nothing then you are right but its a fair assumption that neither of these were the case
a shit ownership decision would be sacking potter and then nuno changing his mind or getting another offer and having to scramble, not losing out on a week and having a pointless press conference which are both insignificant

The original post said about allowing him to take the press conference. I replied saying they're retards for doing so and you then replied saying there was nothing retarded about it.

Allowing him to do the press conference and then sacking him is actually far worse. It makes West Ham look unorganised as fuck.

>if your only argument against this is some fantasy world where only you know what an interim coach is then take your meds
You've lost the plot lad. It is objectively bad optics to boot him the day after he's had a press conference where he's said he's had positive talks with the owners about a contract extension. Contrary to speculation that Ben Winston has been brought in to the Arsenal board for celebrity appeal, sources have told Mail Sport that he will be looking to utilise the power of television & marketing to further elevate the club’s brand.

That includes the potential for shows on the likes of Netflix or Apple TV featuring players & more celebrity crossovers. The club are looking to become more visible globally, particularly in the US where Arsenal have made serious in-roads in recent years. [@IsaanKhan_]

For me it was the season he scored 18 goals and the media were shitting all over themselves about how great he was, but glossed over that 9 of those 18 were penalties. They did the same with "Cold" Cole "Ice Cold" Palmer, but at least he managed 22 goals in total.
