Hello customer, are you ready for the 64-TEAM WORLD CUP?
>>
>>150996999
Sure, who gives a fuck. The Qatar one was fake and why not ruin the game even more than they already have. I'm sure as hell ain't watching.
>>
They should do 2026 with 64, i'll take anything to avoid stupid group format with best third places advancing
>>
>>150996999
I'm not saying i agree but football is now so popular worldwide they could easily do 64 now (and more brubes for Gianni)
>>
>>150996999
How much expanding required to guarantee China and India spots?

Can't wait for the group stages be 80% Albania VS Uzbekistan tier games
>>
>>150996999
yeah I won’t be watching
>>
>noooo not more teams, le world cup is supposed to be about la crème de la crème of elite footballers going head to head to see who will carry his country to the most prestigious golden dildo in world sports
keking my kek so hard
world cup has always been a fake and gay circus made for casuals and tourists, international football is complete marketing slop and only morons give two shits about it. if you think about the very essence of what makes football so great international football makes a mockery of that
>>
are there even 64 different countries lol?
>>
>>150996999
I won't pay attention to it whatsoever
Just for the record, if you're reading this Infantino know that, no matter how many miles north you may emigrate with your cardboard suitcase and how many saudi arses you may kiss, you will always be a goddamn terrone ritardato e prescritto
>>
>>150997370
correct
>>
>>150997370
>>150997404
absolutely delusional
the World Cup is the most prestigious trophy a football player can ever win
>>
>>150997421
back to your containment thread, bernd :)
>>
>>150997259
Both are still too shit even if it's 128
>>
>>150997421
oh yeah, most prestigious, shiniest, most glamorous but still fake and gay and not football
>>
64 is better than 46 for group numbers but let’s be real here and serious, 16 is the best number for tournaments and 32 is bloated but ok for being more inclusive and allowing a few exotic teams to qualify
>>
>>150997421
2014 was the last real world cup after wards clown world started like immediately
>>

>>
when the fuck are the big European FAs leaving this corrupt fucking dumpsterfire and just start their own international football tournament? If England/Spain/France/Germany leaves that's fucking it. Nobody is watching FIFA anymore with those 4 gone.
>>
>>15099699
Here’s what I expect

UEFA: 20 / 54
CONMEBOL: 8 / 10 (LOL)
CONCACAF: 6 / 32
OFC: 1 / 11
AFC: 12 / 46
CAF: 12 / 54
Two spots for winners of an additional quali tournament between representatives of Asia, Africa, Oceania, and North America
Three spots reserved for hosts. If somehow fewer hosts (unlikely except China or the Saudis pay extra), then the tournaments get expanded

These changes will be permanent. They will say it is a jubilee thing first, but then sell it as such a roaring success that is so great for the sport and the fans that it must be kept. Abandoning the 3rd place advancement rule will also be an argument, I suppose. They will market it as a fan-friendly „we listen to you“ moment. I think they played 4D chess here: the first plan with 48 teams was 16 groups of 3 after all, which is even more catastrophic. So people complained and FIFA changed to 12x4, which coincidentally means more games and therefore more money. This will be similar
>>
even from a financial standpoint I don't see the benefits. Nobody is tuning in to watch Uzbekistan v. Haiti in some pre-pre-groupstage match we now need to filter out all the shithole countries.
>>
It should be 16 and the previous edition winner should automatically qualify.
HOST: 1
CHAMPION: 1
UEFA: 1
CONMEBOL: 1
CONCACAF: 1
OFC: 1
AFC: 1
CAF: 1

the remaining 8 places should be decided to by coefficient based entirely on previous world cup results, I haven't thought about the weighting but basically you only want to give spots for teams that can get out of group
>>
>>150997943
Rolling with it, the teams qualifying (according to the world rankings would be)
>Europe
Spain, France, England, Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Serbia, Poland, Czechia (missing out: Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Scotland)
>South America
Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela
>North America
Mexico, USA, Panama, Canada, Costa Rica, Honduras (Next: Jamaica, Curacao, Haiti)
>Asia
Japan, Iran, S.Korea, Australia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Oman, Bahrain (Next: Syria, China, Palestine, Thailand)
>Africa
Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, South Africa, Mali, DR Congo, Burkina Faso (next: Cape Verde, Ghana, Gabon, Guinea, Uganda)
>Oceania
New Zealand (Next: Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Fiji)

Lowest-ranked qualified team would be
>OC: 83 (next: 148)
>EU: 39 (next: 40)
>SA: 49 (Next: 57)
>NA: 65 (Next: 69)
>AS: 88 (next: 92)
>AF: 64 (next: 70)

China still struggling and India being nowhere to be seen would warrant two more spots for Asia, probably at the expense of Europe and/or North America. It wouldn’t help India as of now, though

>>
>>150997259
>>150997470
256 Team world cup for 2034 one in Suadi Arabia
Might stock up with some Under 21 teams
>>
>>150998110
world rankings is not a good way to base it entirely on for several reasons
>>
>>150998029
First of all, we can assume that the federations and countries profiting from expansions pay FIFA in return. Then, it’s about officials there being in contact with other donors. Uzbekistan may not be a super wealthy country, but there are rich oligarchs and sponsors there - these might also pay. Then, you have Uzbek fans and people, an emerging market. Them tuning in is good in general, 30 million more customers … could be worse. But the big calculation is obviously: China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria
Still, more games - more tickets sold, more new countries interested in broadcasting, more events, more TV time. The average game becomes less profitable, but it should still suffice for more profit overall
Also, there is a benefit that transcends cash, at least partially: it is about support in FIFA politics. The African and Asian federations want more spots in return for compliance, and FIFA can damage UEFA supremacy that way. That is still useful even when truckloads of cash are not involved right away. FIFA is willing to sacrifice the tournament‘s integrity for it
>>
>>150998162
I know, but how else can you give a glimpse of who qualifies? Guessing and choosing at random is worse. It’s just a small example
>>
>>150997915
>hen the fuck are the big European FAs leaving this corrupt fucking dumpsterfire and just start their own international football tournament?
Never, because the top guys in those FAs getting whatever they want from FIFA. A model in Dubai to shit in the mouth? Sure. An underaged girl you can rape? Go ahead!

FIFA is one of the most corrupt organizations in history and they and the FAs can do whatever they want whenever they want.

>>
>>150998664
hahaha
>>
>>150998667
Well of course they're gonna disagree because if you're a player then winning the world cup mostly depends on what country you're from and not how good you are as a player. Haaland is world class but even he knows he will never ever be able to win the world cup. In club tournaments you can be a good player and get a transfer to a good team and win trophies based on merit
>>

China actually manages to qualify (sometimes)

FIFA for all their corruption are a for profit company they can smell where the money is and there's a lot more of it rolling around - so maybe in the 2000s a 64 team WC wasn't feasible or profitable but now with the oil money laundering coming in it now is
>>

FIFA still hasn't truly cracked the US market which is what they really want so all the rich corrupt oligarchs and sheiks will have to do

You're right. Russia '18, despite France's victory in the final, is the last normal World Cup in a normal white/Christian country. After that, there was the 3rd world festival in Qatar and the farce with Messi, and after that, it's game over with 48 teams and the insane organization of the World Cup '30. And after that, Arabia 34. Europe urgently needs to rebel against FIFA.

Just have literally every country in it and skip qualifying altogether. Qualifying is so boring it hurts. And the football calendar is so packed anyway, players are having to play way too much football. Just have every country in it. You can have earlier rounds, and the big boys don't come in until later rounds, but still have it all in one go as one big tournament in the summer.

The sport will die in the arse and be nothing but another niggerball game, a la mutt sports. Even now, without tribalism, on merit, most sports are unwatchable as forms of entertainment. There is no point of nationhood in sport if all the teams are comprised of niggers, play alike as such, and notionally represent nothing but the reverse-colonisation by the retardate subspecies of the African continent.

It's just another manifestation of global homogenisation ("globohomo"), via the weapon of societal de-homogenisation, enacted and facilitate by the Achilles heels left exposed after (((globalism))) began wreaking havoc.
>chinks -- students; property
>poojeets -- trade deals; I. T.

Scrap qualifying and make it a straight knockout competition so we can have kino like Tuvalu v Estonia, Bolivia v Nepal and Isle of Man v Lesotho. Round FIFA membership up to 256 by accepting CONIFA/Island teams.

Have games played either home or away (draw is a replay) and only the Round of 16 onwards is played at central venues.

That's only because niggers lack the spatial skills and real-time cognitive processing needed to drive at the highest levels.
>genetic pull factors will still supersede the political push

For example, we won't see poojeets winning slews of Olympic gold medals any time soon. However, as we have witnessed in wider society, the necessary lowering of standards for accommodating "The Replacements", is the pathway paved to undermining institutions, which then opens the door for the negrification process seen taking place in football.

Currently:
>32 teams
>group stage of 3 games per team qualifying 2 best teams for the 16-round
>16-round, quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals/third place
>worst teams: play 3 games at least
>best 4 teams: play 7 games each

Get rid of group stage straight to the 32-round phase
>worst teams: 1 game only
>best 4 teams: 5 games each

This is better however it results in too few games in total, which is bad for viewership. Any random pacific nation that qualifies has at least 3 games on the group stage. How to fix this?
>>
>>150996999
Does that mean Oceania will get 2.5 slots?
>>
>>150998087
That seems awful. An automatic spot for AFC, OFC, CAF, and CONCACAF while the only 2 relevant regions only qualify through coefficients makes no sense.
4 years is a long enough time for a winning squad to fall apart or for a failing squad to reform into a legit challenger.
Though I wouldn't be against a 16 team tournament with a giant 3-5 round qualifying process.
Each confederation would hold a tournament to determine which squads get direct qualification to the WC, which ones go into the qualis at R1, R2, R3, etc. Then coefficients can be used to determine how many direct, R1, R2, or R3 spots each confederation gets. Similar to how the CL qualification process works.
Just like being a champion of a weak league only gets you a spot in the first round of qualis for the CL being the champion of a weak confederation like the OFC would only get you a quali spot, not direct qualification. And teams that fail to top UEFA or COMNEBOL would still get quali spot even if they fail to directly qualify.
>>
>>151067140
Easy solution would be to just let the very worst teams (determined by the CocaCola meme list) have a group-elimination phase and then join the better teams in a tournament form.
Problem with that would be twofold:
1) No one would watch that group phase because it'd be complete trash (comparable to the women's world cup in quality).
2) It'd basically be just another form of qualification. But extremely close to the event, further exhausting and disadvantaging the already weaker teams.
>>
>>151033275
