Name 1 (one) good reason why football shouldn't be banned.
>>
evidence also suggested he had chicken pox as a child which may have caused his behaviour as much as CTE. do they not understand correlation vs causation

heres the thing, 90 percent of this damage isnt done at the NFL level, yet NFL gets blamed for it

its from pee wee handegg all the way through the school system while your brain is developing that does it. id say half the american anons on spee are gonna have CTE symptoms by the time theyre 40

So what are sports that are safe but also attract chads?

>>
>>151005041
NBA surely. you have to pass a height requirement to even play, which is the same thing women do to see if youre even a male in their eyes. there was that one 5'9 manlet who played but generally its chad only
>>
>>151005069
I’m 5’8 so I’m not sure what my sons will play
>>
>>151005069
at a certain height you go from chad to freak though, nba players get women cause they're rich not cause they're tall
i don't know what the line is but i'd guess around 6'6 or 6'7 or so gets into freak territory

That was a cover story, it was a targeted assassination of a Blackstone exec
>>
>>151004598
i'd agree. i didn't play football but i played hockey through high school 20 years ago. once checking leagues started, kids who got what would now be bad concussions just sat out a game and were good to go the next week.

This is common knowledge in rugby, its why youre not allowed to play it here until youre atleast a teenager. maybe everyone involved with gridiron would rather bury their head in the sand and pretend this isnt the case because the whole thing would crumble
>>
>>151005244
by play i mean organised, or at school. maybe they should just ban american football until youre at college. thats when it starts making money anyway

high school football is big money down south.
any parent who lets their kid play football in 2025 is brain dead.
>>
im honestly always waiting for the reckoning against football (soccer) in terms of CTE from heading, i know there have been efforts to limit heading until you're a certain age but i remember when i was a kid and played soccer those balls were hard. im surprised there arent more cases of CTE and all that from professionals who head the ball millions of times in their career
obviously there are much worse sports for head trauma (american football, hockey, idk maybe rugby who knows) but i feel like i expected to see more problems with soccer than there have been, maybe heading isn't as dangerous as i thought it would be
>>

anti-football pussy
>>
>>151005522
all the old soccer players seem pretty normal mentally, well compared to the boxers and rugby players, these guys cant even remember their own careers when interviewed. what causes the damage is your own brain hitting the inside of your skull at speed, and i dont think heading a ball has the power necessary to move your brain/head back enough, different if someone blasts it into your face, but because the ball has nothing to stop it moving back when it hits your forehead youre not gonna get pushed back like if a humans head/fist/helmet hits yours with 250lbs of person behind it. im sure there are some that have it but there will be some in every sport that have it
>>
the damage from CTE can be seen in america's current electorate kek. it's like the dead paint epidemic all over again

You bongs aren't allowed to have letter openers or say mean things about immigrants on the internet, of course your fucking nanny state won't let you play contact sports. We're not reckless, you're just a bunch of pussies
>>
>>151005893
that's a reasonable explanation but you still have to figure hitting a ball with your head thousands and thousands of times probably isn't very good for your brain. but you're right the old footballers don't seem to be too CTE fucked up at all
still think the more modern push of not having kids head the ball until a certain age is probably smart desu. when i played there was hardly any heading anyway but i didn't play at like a youth academy level just normal recreation stuff in america, ball stays on the ground most of the time
>>
>>151004531
BC we don't live in a cucked nanny state (relatively speaking)
>>151004598
This is correct tho. Any parent putting their kid in football before high school is either nuts or hopelessly ignorant.

CTE is caused by microtraumas causing damage and inflammation in the brain, leading permanent encephalitis. There is no age limit to suffering from CTE, even if you only started played high-impact sports as an adult, you’re still at risk of getting CTE. There is no extra protection that the brain develops in adulthood vs childhood.

>>
>>151006532
> not having kids head the ball until a certain age is probably smart desu.
They shouldn’t head the ball at any age, an adult who’s never played physical sports is just as vulnerable to CTE should he start playing them as a child is. There is no “acceptable” level of risk when it comes o CTE.
>>
>>151006532
Yeah, but they're heading far less than boxers or football players are getting their heads rattled during training
>>
>>151008177
The children at your local club do it dozens of times a week at practice.
>>
>>151008177
I know that the few times I played soccer I had a natural fear of heading the ball, an unwillingness, it is incredibly stupid on first impression
I guess the dumber you the less of this fear u have
>>
>>151008201
They're idiots then
>>
>>151008233
they ignorant or their parents put them through it. There is a reluctance to come to terms with the problem of CTE in football in general across the sport.
>>
Everybody should be wearing a guardian cap at all times. Make it mandatory like they did with the vaxx.

I'm convinced you are either making a bad faith argument or are b8ing. People bump their heads in day-to-day life. One might reasonably argue that taking punches or head-smashing people all the time is unhealthy. But millions of people play soccer all their lives and I'm pretty sure most of them don't die of dementia. You haven't even demonstrated that pro soccer players face an increased risk outside of a handful of incidents.
>>
Smells like faggot in here. Football is good for the kids! Makes you tough

> People bump their heads in day-to-day life
They don’t do it as a job
> One might reasonably argue that taking punches or head-smashing people all the time is unhealthy.
Obviously it is, which is why most people avoid fights in their day to day lives, but footballers head balls hundreds of times a year.
> millions of people play soccer all their lives and I'm pretty sure most of them don't die of dementia.
CTE can only be detected via brain autopsy after death, most football players don’t get autopsied after they die, classic symptoms of CTE may get confused for early onset dementia when they get older.

because banning something isn’t the necessary step.. We have tools that can make this less dangerous, especially with the knowledge we have now.
>>

Such as? Helmets don’t work because they don’t absorb the impact forces
