So he drops in the rankings and when he plays the Slams he will face Alcaraz/Sinner in the early rounds where he is fresh increasing his chances to win, rather than play them in the semis where he's more tired physically

He takes off a lot of tourneys now so his old man bones don't break, so when he does play it's not being "fresh", it's more that he has to play himself into shape against the early round shitters. He peaks around the 3rd round but then is gassed by the 5th
