Any more than a -8 is usually wildcard worthy, but like the other anon said you should only be taking them if it's absolutely necessary (e.g. you can't field 11, or you have to deal with blanks, or you want to attack doubles, etc.)
Your team is not in great shape but I don't think I would take a hit. What you could do is wait for news about Branthwaite during the week (and see if he's on the bench tomorrow), if it looks like he's starting GW7: buy Gabriel; if not: save the transfer for after the international break in case anything happens. Then with 2 FTs in GW8 you could reassess the team and maybe get away with a -4 to take out one of the yanited mids against Liverpool and treat the 3 transfers as a mini-wildcard to fix the problems.
If this is too passive for you, just get Gabriel.

Yeah Understat uses a different xG and xA model. Nobody seems to agree on who actually had the most useful or accurate model, so I just went with one that would be easy to implement. Think I read it's something to do with rebounds and shit. Where understat will count certain chances twice while other models would count them once if the ball comes back to the striker quickly enough. Something like that anyway. Would explain Sesko's being inflated after the mess of 3 shots that eventually led to his goal. Might try fbrefs stats some day this week and see if it feels more accurate.

Ndiaye has good underlying numbers that he's underperforming and he's got low ownership. The youtubers are banking on him regressing to the mean and starting to convert those chances into actual points, at which point he'll be a good differential. Same reason I brought in Gordon this week, funnily enough (who looks to be on pens too now)

on the contrary, ndiaye had some of the worst underlying numbers out of all mids last season (something around 0.15 non-penalty xG per 90) and didn't take a single shot in half of the games he played in and iirc all of his goals bar 1 came against relegation fodder or from pens. his stats aren't really much better this season (averaging around 1 shot every 2 games) and all of his xG came from the 2 goals he scored. people picked him for the good early fixtures and pens, and while he did get a few returns, the fixtures are turning and everton is averaging 1 pen per season over the last 5 years, so picking him just for pens probably isn't worth it either.

Had to add some jitter just to separate the data points (and it still came out messy in the bottom left), so basically if a player is just above or just below 1.0 on the Y axis, then that means they're just at 1.0 and have been moved artificially just for slightly better readability. The bigger the bubble, the higher their average Bonus points per 90.

I cannot believe how many DEFCONs per 90 Caicedo has with only 1 card to his name.
