Oh most definitely. Infact i have never witnessed a bigger * season in my life and due to this I don't acknowledge Brisbane won the premiership. I refuse to believe it. We will try again next year but things are looking grim

Not at all, this season had a good selection of teams that felt like they could win
Umpball is not yet as bad as the 90s but it's getting there
They need to stop giving away frees to players that push and shove outside of the contest though, it breaks the flow of the game when the footy is handed to someone during a ball-up that doesn't make sense until you're shown the replay and saw someone raise their arms because "he bumped me ;((("

no it didn't, it was literally only ever going to be geelong, bane, or pies in the gf, and pies list deficiencies and old fuckheads who would burn out at the end of the season made them only an outside chance of the flag anyway. everyone in the top 9 were complete fucking frauds who dropped easy as fuck games or had a pissweak fixture
>>
>>151082882
The only thing that marred it was how significant the divide between the good teams and the bad teams seems to have become. Didn't help that decent teams like Cats, Adelaide and Bulldogs seemed to get so many games against the lower teams and would beat the hell out of them when they played. When the competition is even you feel like any team can win on their day and yet we had so many games that were over by half time.

>AFL.com.au revealed last month the Bombers were preparing an offer of at least six years, worth more than $8 million – a club record – for Bailey as he hits free agency, while his South Australian links will have both local clubs keen. Bailey has signed his last two deals in between seasons, with Brisbane keen to lock him in again over summer.

more clubs need to do this to the top teams
squeeze their cap space is the only way to actually equalise

Mad Monday controversy just dropped

"Bailey Smith posted a photo from Mad Monday referencing the movie Brokeback Mountain.

Former AFL player Mitch Brown said he felt the post was homophobic and urged the players to do better.

The Cats also courted controversy with a trio of players attending the event as Irish band Kneecap."

"Brown first published a picture of deceased Australian actor Heath Ledger, who played one of the lead characters in the movie.

"Just for the record, Heath Ledger's way hotter," Brown joked.

But then Brown added in a separate post: "In all seriousness though, guys do better.

"Last time I checked, losing a grand final doesn't make you gay, but being homophobic definitely makes you a loser."

Smith also courted controversy by commenting on Max Holmes's costume.

Holmes — who has previously attended Mad Monday celebrations as journalists Mitch Cleary and Gerard Whateley — this time came as footy journalist Caroline Wilson, with Smith commenting that Wilson "had never looked better".

Jesus Christ, is this why this attention whore came out as "bi"? So every time anything happens where homos may or may not be offended they can go to him and say "is this sensitive towards faggots?"
Sick of that cunt already.

Idk, I didn't really watch it this year. 2019 was relentlessly dogshit but it was still probably more watchable simply because the stand rule, which I believe was implemented after 2019
>>
>>151086397
surely just take a one-year deal through to free agency and decide then
>>
>you now remember Geelong by 40+ points

He's contracted until the end of next year at which point he becomes a free agent. Unless he re-signs early probably hear about it all next year along with Butters.
>>
Andrews absolutely fucking robbed of the Norm Smith. Defenders are truly cucked out of all accolades.

And how on earth did Cameron kick 4 goals while the game was live and not even get a single vote?
>>
>>151087295
It was a pretty complete team performance so there wasn't an out an out standout and a pretty wide selection. Andrews would've been my pick but I have no issue with Ashcroft getting it.
>>
>>151087349
Personally I would have gone
3 - Andrews
2 - Cameron
1 - Ashcroft
>>
>AFL.com.au does an updated post-finals top 25
>Zak Butters, Isaac Heeney and Sam Darcy have climbed in the rankings
>McCluggage has dropped
I guess you can't argue with how pivotal those three were across the finals.
>>
heeney is so over rated
>>
>>151087420
I'd probably go
3 - Andrews
2 - Fletcher
1 - Ashcroft
But even looking at that seems strange to only have one mid getting votes in a game where the midfield battle was so instrumental in the win. Amount of scores from stoppage was off the charts.
McCluggage, Bailey, Cameron and Zorko all had huge games too and I wouldn't argue with anyone giving them votes. Defence was just so important in the first three when the game was an arm wrestle though imo.
