Every time he takes to the pitch, you can see how Wirtz interprets his No 10 role. He solves difficult situations, sets up new ones and, as an individualist who puts himself at the service of everyone else, is the ideal team player. His actions and performances are reliable for coaches and teammates.

He chose his new club for sporting reasons. Liverpool, the English champions, have specifically strengthened their stable formation with him.

It takes time to fit into a team. This is especially true for a player who makes a difference. So far, he is getting into his groove and adapting to the pace and intensity of the Premier League. He passes the ball early, which gives him increasing confidence and allows him to gradually take more risks.

In the first half against Arsenal, what caught the eye was Wirtz as a team player, and in the second half, his brilliance. He played razor‑sharp passes, took the ball superbly with his right foot in the penalty area and shot with his left. With him, his team became stronger and won. Wirtz’s qualities are becoming increasingly apparent at Liverpool.

Liverpool want to develop a successful team through the principle of selection. At Anfield people don’t mind that Wirtz costs €125m because they know that this is sports business at the highest level, whose market value can be compared only to art, film or pop music. This has nothing to do with club life and voluntary work any more. When investments are made according to a strategy, paying customers accept it.

Under the caring guidance of Arne Slot, something interesting seems to be emerging in Liverpool. Something you want to be a part of. I can well understand why Wirtz was convinced. I experienced it myself at Bayern from 2010 to 2017 and with Germany from 2004 to 2014. Both teams went through a long process, becoming stronger through transfers or new players coming through. In the end, the sum was greater than the individual parts.

I have no doubt that he's been shit for Liverpool so far, but tbqh, I am not surprised since this is a completely new situation for him. Le epic 007 jokes aside, I still think he should eventually come through and perform well enough to at least somewhat warrant that crazy sum

Germany is unrivalled, Portuguese league is a bit weaker so flops are to be expected and most players don't transfer for as much money. The Bundesliga pretends to be a serious league but they've clearly been conspiring for years to inflate the G/A numbers of attacking players so they can be sold to stupid English teams

>>

Still leaps and bounds better then your league pal, facts.
>>
>>151106740
Liverpool rejected Amorim because he would require too many squad changes to play his system. And West Ham rejected him because he only did it in the Portuguese league and they wanted someone with PL experience. Man Utd seemed to ignore both these iossues and still went for Amorim, then they sacked Dan Ashworth (who they had spent a lot of time and money getting from Newcastle) because he dared to voice his concerns that Amorim might not be a good fit.

Is Isak playing well? Or why is Wirtz getting all the hate? I don’t really get it. As underwhelming as Wirtz may have been so far, I also don’t see a plan for him. How do they intend to use him? At Leverkusen, he had physical defensive midfielders keeping his back free. At Liverpool, he hasn’t, and they haven’t had a real 10 in years and mostly spam balls across the middle to the wings. It’s also a system issue, Wirtz didn‘t suddenly forget how to play football
Interestingly enough, he said he chose Liverpool over Bayern (apparently despite his father’s efforts) because of the plan they had with him. Kompany apparently didn’t manage to sell his idea to Wirtz
>>
>>151107750
Both are playing like shut but wirtz gets more hate because he was hailed as midfield jesus for a year whereas isak broke out rather recently
>>
>>151103873
xDDDDDD
>>
>>151107750
Isak joined late in the transfer window, plus people have seen him perform in the PL for Newcastle so there are less doubts about his abiliity. Wirtz has had a full preseason and has played every game for Liverpool so far, plus it's easier to call someone a fraud when they've arrived from another league.

The German's are in good hands with Woltemade. Forget Wirtz, Woltemade is the future
>>
You're genuinely low IQ if you can't see what a quality player he is.
>>
>>151117948
I have watched a few Liverpool games, and I can't say he played well. I don't think anyone can. But it's still easy to see his potential, and having seen him at Leverkusen would obviously make that easier for anybody
The entire Liverpool system seems to be unfinished. They haven't played well as a whole so far. And the system they've played these last few years wasn't made for a real 10 in general. I've read some stats that Wirtz apparently has created more chances than any other player in the PL so far, and that his xG and xA values are good. Many stats are bullshit one way or the other, but it's definitely to early to write him off. I'm not surprised he struggles in a new league and country after having spent all his life in a single urban area
He still has to work on himself, but I think he does. The problem isn't only him, I think criticizing him and not the entire Liverpool structure is either dishonest or dumb. But it isn't wrong to be upset so far, he cost too much to warrant a long start phase. But that's not only up to him

Me as an unbiased EPL watcher I must accept that in every liverpool game I've watched Wlingz, he looks like a very good player in the wrong set up
THEN I remember enzo fernandez and mcallister are used to play in mixed positions and deliver.. so wirtz may be a little too lazy or receive very bad guidance
>>
>>151118568
I kind of consider him a retard. He just doesn't come off as very smart, but I think he's dedicated to his craft and not lazy or anything as a player. But him being arguably a bit dumb on top of living in a different country for the first time, playing for a team that evidently is in turmoil ... maybe that explains it
I also have yet to be convinced that he's up to the task psychologically. Leverkusen is a comparatively small club (in terms of media presence and pressure) in the region he grew up in, he had it easy there. Now he's the 125 million signing of a club in the global spotlight. And it's not working perfectly well immediately. That probably gets the noggin' joggin'. Maybe he's just a Rhineland boy and can't perform elsewhere. I would hope not, he's too talented for that to be acceptable
At Leverkusen, he had dominant and physical midfielders protecting him a bit. Xhaka and Andrich tidied up everything and Wirtz could freely dictate the midfield. At Liverpool, he has none of that, and their philosophy seems to be more about avoiding the midfield in favor of countering quick on the wings
Ironically enough, Wirtz apparently said no to Bayern because Bayern couldn't show him a real plan on how to use him. Liverpool and Slot apparently could. No idea who was in the wrong here
>>
>>151118696
but I've watched him pinpoint crossing good chances to his teammates and those retards missing them
It's more like he should become a ball HUB as a 10 but the team is not playing exactly that way
Yes, he's used to lose physical duels
>>
Frankly all German "talents" have always been spastic blockheads who feel uncomfortable with the ball.

In 12 months wirtz will be looked at as one of the best players in the league. I’ve never been more confident that a player is going to absolutely bang.

Just needs time and the fans support

You also have to factor in Edward’s here. He’s not dropping record breaking money on a player who’s not worth it or won’t adapt to the league. He’s earned our trust
