i don't trust the science or the line calls tbhfam. sure the screen says ball hit some kind of place but it how lie. how do you know it doesn't lie. if it's close enough it could nudge it any kind of way it wants show you the picture on the screen oh look at that it was in or out it could be a massive scam. imagine someone on the back end has a little gambling operation going and maybe he nudges the calls a little to and fro at the right moment to tip the scales. you don't really know.

All part of mounting their "muh long masters" cases. They want more money for less effort at the expense of tourism, and only the top players, the ones with the money to travel to every tournament at will, are the ones complaining about it kek

If he was still getting gatekept at slam quarters by the top guys then maybe he could say he's at his ceiling
Instead he's losing to schmucks he shouldn't be losing to
It's obviously just mental but he thinks meditating on court is the entire solution when his constant tantrums are only part of the problem
>>
>>151155161
He's right. He just doesn't hit that hard compared to the competition anymore despite the BWEHs. All these guys take the ball early and hit the ball hard now. A good example is the match Fran played vs Charlie at Laver. Charlie changed his forehand to avoid being rushed and goes first strike. It's truly nuclear ping pong now.

But seriously what in the fuck is Fritz doing with all this shitty ass S&V
>>
GMP's doing it too, must be because of the conditions that they're trying to shorten points as much as possible, they both look gassed as fuck
That said it's bizarre to S&V so much on such a slow court
Still I would've expected Fritz to be more fit
>>
>>151186275
i think players saw what sinner said after losing to carlos about adding variety and are trying to do it as well. not saying that's the only reason, they've probably been talking about it among themselves in the locker room as well.
thing is, it's hard to add stuff to your game mid career, even a talent like carlos would struggle to add a new shot to his game at this point, he grew up playing the way he does and it's second nature
>>
>Nishioka Munar
Sounds sweaty. Will watch
>>
>>151186442
I don't doubt that some players are feeling that way but Fritz never struck me as the type
He seems like he knows what he's good at and what he's bad at, and I don't think he'd try and drastically change things up unless he was forced to, especially against a guy like GMP who he can beat playing normally
>>
Just heard about this during the Munar match

>Considered to be India’s “home” courts, the courts were prepared by laying down a sub-base over which 40-60 tons of Porbandar stone is crushed and levelled. Water is later added to the prepared base and allowed to dry. The first layer of cow dung paste which is made after mixing it with bamboo in a large drum is then spread out with mops. Each court requires almost 15-20 workers who would spread 200 litres of cow dung. Once it is dried, 3-4 coatings (twice a week) are laid down to complete a court worth INR 1,50,000. Furthermore, each court would take INR 20,000 for its maintenance.
>The following year, when monsoon arrives, the courts swell up and become semi-solid in consistency. This would make it easier for the workers to remove and dig out the old layer. Later, 3 inches of limestone is then added. On this layer a thin layer of cow dung is applied. Upon its drying a thicker layer is added, levelled and dried to complete the court’s fabrication.
>Now a defunct tournament, the Indian Open saw many international players play on the cow dung turf in the 1970s. Vijay Amritraj, who won the tournament on four occasions said,

>“I didn’t think it was crazy, but foreigners definitely did when they heard of it. They thought they needed a tetanus shot when they fall down.”

>The cow dung turf was in action at the Indian Open right up till 1996. There are various big names in the tennis world who had a mixed bag of emotions playing on the Indian clay.

>11-time Grand Slam winner Rod Laver was a member of the Australian Davis Cup team in 1969 when the Bombay CCI were the hosts. It seemed that the great Aussie did like the cow dung courts as he came back 17 years later to partner Zeeshan Ali in an exhibition match. Zeeshan Ali recalls that the Indian players would deliberately hit the balls deep in the court to risk the foreigners stretch and fall on the court.
>>
>>151187680
>It seemed that the great Aussie did like the cow dung courts as he came back 17 years later
Perhaps not the shining endorsement they thought it was

>>151188094
I get what you mean but from the way other players talk about him he seems to really love the grind
From that I feel like if there's anything he feels he needs to improve, he'd do the hard yards in the gym or on the practice court
In today's match - which I only really watched the end, to be honest - it did not look at all like he had that level of comfort in serving and volleying, it looked like he was simply desperate (like, REALLY desperate) to shorten points
He probably realises now that he needs to work on his S&V, but I think it'd be less about adding that variety to his game and more about just shoring up a specific weakness

>Novak Djokovic will almost certainly be bronzed into immortality at Melbourne Park once he is retired but that does not mean the legend will bid farewell to professional tennis after next year’s Australian Open.
>That is the assessment of AO tournament director Craig Tiley who, while launching the 2026 edition in Melbourne on Tuesday, declared with confidence that the Serbian superstar will continue on beyond next January.
>“Novak is the kind of player that, if he’s in four semifinals this year in grand slams, you know he’s right there. So my answer would be, no, I would expect to see him play longer.”

>Carlos Alcaraz will headline a new "One Point Slam" at this year's Australian Open, organisers announced on Tuesday, which will see 10 amateurs go head-to-head with 22 professionals.

>A total of AUS$1 million ($700k) will be up for grabs for the overall winner -- slightly less than semifinalists in the men's and women's main draw will receive.

>The event, which will take place on the opening weekend of the season-opening slam, follows the U.S. Open's attempt to bring new eyeballs to tennis by expanding its mixed doubles competition.

>The "One Point Slam" will do exactly as it says: Each match will consist of a single point. A pre-match game of 'rock, paper, scissors' will decide who serves.
What kind of bullshit is this?
