be for real, fans only care about current or recent success and the most recent New York Yankees world series win was 2009, now 16 years ago, although to be fair in the context of baseball thats not really all that long, and before that they got 3 in a row so fans who have been alive for a while have seen them win and be a good team. Real fans understand success is hard to come by and even more so for repeated success. Meanwhile the Jays havent won shit in 30 years and theyre celebrating like they won the world series they could still get eliminated by Seattle or Detroit before they even make it there.
