like they don't have superstars anymore. i might as well watch a high school karate match.
>>151269686>UFC fans still haven't figured out Dana White wants this to be WWE lite.i think he wants a combination of UFC and WWE, but all he can get are fighters that are good but have no personality. like watching someone get KO'd is only exciting for so long.
once it went public that should have been your final warning. a fighting league beholden to stakeholders in today's climate is not going to be good there's no way around it
>>151269729so i can buy stock in ufc?
You unironically should go watch some local amateur competitions. A gym in my town throws MMA smokers that are like $20, last time I was sitting cageside on a heavy bag they left on the floor. Avoid amateur boxing if you want to see KOs, low-level boxing tends to be kinda meh as a spectator IME. Amateur MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, all usually great fun to see live. Hearing coaches, teammates, family members etc screaming, seeing the sweat fly off someone's head when they get punched. You really feel the anxiety, the joy, and the anguish. It's cheap, and you're supporting local fighters + gyms.
UFC in its history has had exactly three actual superstars.
>>151269898Yep this is trueThey cost more than that here thoUFC has definitely got more boring
>>151270458>UFC in its history has had exactly three actual superstars.it's basically all little guys fighting. tf i don't care who the toughest midget is. fucking get more guys like brock lesnar.
>>151270591fucking connor was a small guy but at least he put on a show
I totally disagree. We are watching GOATS in multiple weight classes. Islam, Chimaev, Merab. Pantoja cleaned out his division. Aspinall has potential to be best heavyweight ever. Prerier is an absolute savage. I think we don't see them as"stars" because A) A lot of the Russians are Muslim so they won't do certain promotional things like things like beer ads etc and they are wrestlers which most label as "boring." Watch boxing if you think grappling is boring.
>>151269726>but have no personality.right so just like modern WWE
>>151270458hmmi'd define a "superstar" as someone that your average normie could nameso, Conor, Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar?maybe Chuck Liddel ten years agowhich is a shame, because they're nowhere on the level of the dagestanis, GSP, Jone Jones, etc, but they just don't have the drawnot their fault, they're focused on their craft- your average idiot wants fireworks, though
>>151269640No you're not the only one, Dana see's the writing on the wall and is trying jump ship to Boxing. Now the freakshow/novelty aura that surrounded the show is gone, and the juvenile "who would win between a Karate Guy and a Sumo Wrestler" premise is old and worn out, all that is left is a mediocre sport for people whose only father figure is Joe Rogan.
>>151271641You could probably throw in Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz too. Not quite as big a name but you don't need to follow the sport to have heard of them.
>>151271679When is the last time a sumo guy fought a karate guy?

>>151269640>getting excited over goyballPathetic
>>151272069Concession accepted.
>>151269640>high school karate match.we know you're a pedo
>>151272069you didn't answer his question
>>151269640I like Islam
>>151272613GOAT. He’s about to be a 2 division champion don’t see Jack Della beating him.
I like UFC, but hate how fights are promoted. It got to a point where the fighters literally have gimmicks like WWE
>>151272613Christianity here
>>151272697so are you a fan of Israel?
they need to discriminate more in who they sign. why the fuck is jose medino in the ufc but they’re not signing paul hughes and usman nurmagomedov
>>151271641>i'd define a "superstar" as someone that your average normie could name>so, Conor, Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar? Also the only ones to have several PPVs with over a million buys with them as the main draw.
>>151271629>right so just like modern WWEso the modern WWE has no good personalities? i wouldn't know because i don't watch WWE.
The modern UFC does not want stars, because stars end up getting too much power and asking for too much of a cut in revenue. See Connor Mcgregor. The UFC pushes their brand, the fighters will come and go. Some more popular than others, but no "super stars" like Connor, GSP, Silva, Lesnar ever again. The UFC now likes to sign fighters from 3rd world countries because they will fight for peanuts. Almost every top fighter now has a name you can barely pronounce.
>>151277117>The UFC now likes to sign fighters from 3rd world countries because they will fight for peanuts. Almost every top fighter now has a name you can barely pronounce.it's really annoying seeing cards full of no-name fighters. technically they might be good fighters but there's no excitement in it. even if you watch a KO in a match. i've seen enough KOs at this point so i don't even care. they need charismatic fighters.
>>151269640i got sick of it during connors peak desu. too much bullshit and drama
>>151279700"good fighters" now are just wrestlers who stall and hold against the cage. Chama is the only one trying to knock people out.
its CHAMA TIME
>>151269640>he doesn't like watching wrestlers from the caucus region of Russia
>>151269726it wasn't Dana but some TKO suit talking about WWE ticket prices. Which for anyone who doesn't follow wrestling, they are crazy expensive now. I'm talking thousands of dollars ringside, tens of thousands for the first few rows at Mania, well over $100 for the cheapest seats in large arenas. Anyway, the TKO guy was talking about extracting value and how WWE isn't quite at UFC level yet, but they hope to be soon. Anyway, it was very jewish and made Vince seem like a good guy in retrospect for not pricing many fans out.I think TKO might be surprised once their business starts heavily slipping there, pro wrestling isn't MMA and I don't see them being able to keep this sort of WWE ticket pricing up long term unless they want 1/5 full arenas at some point in the not so distant future.
