100% yes

He's the first England manager in the long time that actually got the squad playing like a team, and he deserves a lot of credit for that. But he also single-handedly cost us the trophy in the 2020 final with his decisions.

He led ENGLAND to 3 semi finals in 4 tournaments. He was a miracle worker

I was a Southgate OUTer long before others were but truth be told he did a lot of good for the whole squad and mentality of the players/coaches/staff by bringing everyone together and getting rid of the club rivalries. He has also done a lot of good work for the grassroots level. HOWEVER the man is not a very good tactical manager aside from keeping things tight and organized whilst trying to sneak a goal. I never felt when watching that we were going out to win and win convincingly. People will say he's the most successful and you can't be that lucky that many times in a row but actually go back and look at all the tournaments his England sides were involved in, we had extremely lucky runs every time only to be beaten by a side than on paper we shouldn't beat. And that's how I measure a manager, does his teams ever beat a team that they shouldn't beat on paper, Southgate's England never beat a better squad. The only time we should have won was the Italy final and his decisions cost us the game.

this, it took a moment of magic from nowhere to draw level in the dying moments with the titans of slovakia
and tucheliban is basically just continuing the same style of football

Can;t believe Soufgate came out and said "yeah we just followed the plan we weren't worried" with that result. What was the plan to score a bicycle kick at the 95th minute from a long throw?

the truth is always somewhere in the middle, the only manager i can think of who is 100% bad with zero redeeming qualities is pooben amoorim
>>
no he was great, england shoulda kept him
>>
>>151271595
always followed the path of least resistance behind the mic, it was unthinkable of him to slip in a showy 'fortune favours the brave' or something to that effect
>>
>>151271050
That was in spite of him, not because of him, retard.

>micro nation chatting shit
Too cute
>>
positives
-good man management
-professional

negatives
-too conservative/reactive with subs
-too defensive (i think at one point we had a back 5 with 2 dms which was frankly obscene)

i miss him so much lads
every single match was absolute kino

Micro nation with more medals at the world cup than jewgland
>>
>>151272173
It would be highly unsporting to actually be good at a game we invented, uncivilised micronations can't understand this

You blew your 1 and only chance to win a WC.

Bringing in a load of cold weak-ming ngubus specifically for the penalty shootout is the stupidest decision anyone has made in football since the Ali Dia signing and he doesn't get enough critizism for that probably because it would be illegal in the Orwellian Caliphate of Bongistan.

Blud thinks there are silver medals :skull:

Southgate was based. England had a legitimately decent squad under him and he purposefully sabotaged every chance of a trophy. For some reason the britcucks view him as a hero.

How many good teams did England beat in a World Cup or Euros during his tenure?

None, (unless you include a decrepit Croatian team in 2018, and a very meh Netherlands team in 2024
