Lack of effort put into expanding the game abroad. In Scandinavia we all play bastardized baseball variants growing up (brännboll in Scandinavia and pesäpallo in Finland), but no one knows anything about actual baseball or how it's even played. Effort should have been put in post-WW2. It could have easily stuck in at least parts of Europe.

Ohtani always trains harder than anyone, like Cristiano Ronaldo, and never drinks alcohol. In the first half, he dominates the field like Franz Beckenbauer while defending like Oliver Kahn. In the second half, he scores effortlessly like Messi, breaks the net with the missile-like super goal by Ronaldo Nazário, crushes the enemy's will, wins the WC and the CL, and gains the insane attention in his home country as David Beckham, but always acts with the humility of Andrés Iniesta and has a wonderful family. Most replies are overselling it. Every player in baseball switches between offense and defense with pitchers usually being the exception and Ohtani being the exception to the exception and very good at both.
>>
I don't even see how this gets explained in soccer terms when in baseball, it's essentially the defense attacking the offense. There's nothing else that compares besides cricket obviously. Imagine if penalty kicks start with the keeper trying to kick it past the penalty taker instead of the other way around.

I know it would be hard for many posters here to believe but I'm pretty sure that he's some kind of asian who just hates Japan and the Japanese to death. Nobody else is autistic enough to do this shit when you don't even like baseball.
If he actually simply hates Latinos and don't even like baseball, he would have been a straightforward /pol/tard and wouldn't spend hours just to shit on Dodgers every fucking day.
Some type of asian can dedicate their life to do this kind of activity. Maybe he really really hates that a Jap becomes a star athlete in the US even though he will never admit.

Imagine your 20% population genocided in the most irrelevant proxy war, its lives must be worth less than bugs life there.

>Curtis LeMay in Strategic Air Warfare "We went over there and fought the war and eventually burned down every town in North Korea anyway, some way or another, and some in South Korea, too. Over a period of three years or so, we killed off, what, 20 percent of the population?” MacArthur in 1951 “The war in Korea has already almost destroyed that nation of 20 million people. I have never seen such devastation. After I looked at that wreckage and those thousands of women and children … I vomited.”

>British journalist Reginald Thompson was shocked by the ignorance and racism of the American military, who referred to Koreans as “gooks” and Chinese soldiers as “chinks” during Korean war. J. Howard McGrath, referred to the Koreans as “rodents,” and thus had no regrets about the ongoing slaughter. In 1951, war correspondent Tibor Meráy said that there were “no more cities in Korea.” He added, “My impression was that I am traveling on the moon because there was only devastation—every city was only a collection of chimneys.”

>The US dropped a total of 635,000 tons of bombs, including 32,557 tons of napalm, on Korea. By comparison, the U.S. dropped 160,000 on Japan during WW2. Winston Churchill, among others, criticized American use of napalm, calling it "very cruel", he said, were "splashing it all over the civilian population", "tortur[ing] great masses of people". American official who took this statement declined to publicize it. An estimated 2.5 million Koreans died in the bombing, most of them civilians, many of them incinerated by napalm.

It's not like that at all. It's a completely different skillset. Remember how Neuer used to get praise from coaches for his ballplaying/decision making abilities? They would say something along the lines of that Neuer could have been a center back in the German 3rd division if he truly wanted instead. That was high praise for Neuer. This is nothing like that. Forget 3rd division. Forget center back. This is like if Neuer not only had the skillset to be Lewandowski, but actually was Lewandowski and did both things in the same game at the same time. Elite levels of goalkeeping and goal scoring abilities simultaneously. If it sound unrealistic, it's because it is. It doesn't sound real. It shouldn't be real. Yet through just one single person in the entire universe it's somehow actually real.

The K means strikeouts right? I dont watch mlb baseball, but I wasnt aware 10 strikeouts is a supposedly high number in a 27 out game (9 innings times 3 outs. Granted I imagine most outs are due to grounders or fly balls being caught. I could maybe see it as a higher than average number, but wasnt aware it was a legendary amount of outs by a pitcher. >>

A pitcher doesn’t necessarily need to produce strikeouts to be a good pitcher; they’re mostly rated by how many hits and runs they allow. To answer your question, getting at least one per inning is better than good.

> it's as if was neuer and messi at the same time retarded comparisons.

football and baseball are completely different sports. You could compare him to cricket players but not football players.
There's no reason for a player to be a great attacker and great goalkeeper at the same time because he can't be in two places at once.

Soccer is a lousy comparisson. Cricket has players bowling and hitting, and players are doing just fine. There were historically many all-rounders that did both really well. Baseball has always allowed separated hitting and batting, and it's just rule pandering. You can change pichers and batters anytime, even DH rule is universal now. There is just no incentive to have player do both per baseball rules. And it was even worse in the past. They change an important rule just to fit Ohtani. In the past, whenever a pitcher had to be subbed out of the game, he couldn't bat anymore. Now he can magically continue the game as a DH, even though a team substituted him out of the game for another pitcher.

Per your soccer comparison, that's like if a player played like shit as an attacker, and you could substitute him for another attacker, but he still stayed in the game as a goalkeeper.
