What's the point of winning if nobody sees you win?
>>
yeah

Regular season doesn't count in general. You wanted it to be that way. What is there to win there? The playoffs are your main events, the regular season is just there to determine who qualifies
I'm sure playoff viewership is higher. People are watching. And if not on TV, then via other means

people actually watch NFL? i thought people liked basketball over there. whats there to watch in handegg? ive never made it thru a full game its a fucking tragic experience.
>>

"Liking" basketball is a performative thing for social media addicts, nobody unironically likes watching the NBA product
>>

NFL is by far and away the biggest sport in America

Basketball and baseball are pretty close between 2nd and 3rd. Has more to do with age, race and region
>>
the better question is what's the point of seetheng everyday if nobody watches it?
>>

The popularity of the NBA has been astroturfed hard since Magic and Bird retired. I remember in the '90s people were more into Shaq as a larger than life actor/character than caring about how he played. Most people are aware of MJ but have never watched him play. NFL has been #1 in America by far since the '70s. It used to be NHL as the #1 in Canada but NFL was always close behind in popularity. When I was in highschool I'd try discussing the NBA but nobody was interested in it beyond talking about Dirk & Nash. The NBA has been a welfare state for negro mutants since the '70s at least.

I can't summon the energy to care about sports where every team plays 200 games in a season
In the NFL every game matters
>>
>>151552682
per game is nuts
but the real surprise is basketball being watched almost twice more in the US than baseball
>>

There are 2430 regular season MLB games each year.
378k watching it on average is pretty good imo.

are you baiting?
>>

smells fishy because next to no one watches the vast majority of games. Charlotte Hornets-New Orleans Pelicans isn't being watched by 71k people including the people in the building which is why it's so easy to have guys fake injuries for under props bets

What's the point of winning if nobody remembers anything other than the commercials?
>>
>>151554292
Yeah I love to play basketball, Afl and golf.
But they are absolutely terrible to watch.
Playing rugby league and cricket is painful and I sucked but watching it is good.
Although, Ill admit cricket is an acquired taste or at least requires a lot of watching and learning to understand the strategy.

I find these stats hard to believe.
NRL had 614k viewers per game this year and only 2 states in Australia watch it. Cricket 770k for BBL
Nrl has 14m potential people vs 347m people. So 4.4% of people watched any given Nrl game vs .2% for NBA. Even NFL is 2.65%.
For what its worth AFL is 560k for the other 13m of Australians so thats around 4.3%.
If you dont know Afl and Nrl splits the country nobody I know in Qld can name a single AFL player and same goes for Victorians naming rugby players.
Shows hiw we are way too obsessed with sport.

Basketball is as boring as soccer
Why was your football watching a tragic experience, Nigel?
>>
I'd rather see stats on the average IQ in the audience
>>
>>151552682
what's the point of playing if the games are rigged?

money.
entertainment.
reasons to bet.

NFL and College Football are huge here, no other sports come close.
>>

I actually like watching soccer. Basketball is completely unwatchable.
