E-euro sisters, our response?
>>151562286Every World Cup and Copa America in the USA! USA! USA! until FIFA gets a cut of that revenue.
>>151562286americans are more sports keen than euroseuros are more crazed fanatics when they do support a team but pure numbers are lower and thats what matters for rev figurespeople forget that america invented the sports bar
my response is that the sum of the top 5 leagues' revenue is greater than the NFL's despite the population of those 5 countries combined being less than the USA's
american sports have big value because they are monopolies and there no real consequences for either losing or winning. you're either in or youre not, its not a market. imagine telling a european team "lose on purpose" (tank).
>>151562286>those NBA/NFL numbersDrug marketing is a hell of a drug.
>>151562286Be proud that you don't CONSOOOOM to such a shameful degree
>>151562286kinda funny how shit and inefficient they are at monetizing it. the NFL is basically the only unifying cultural event in the USA and that's all it can muster
one wonders why the fact 50% of the broadcast time being adverts just so teyshawn gets a bigger pay day would be such a big source of pride for you
>>151562286The combined revenues of Europe's top 5 leagues is $22.79B
Double the ads, double the ticket prices and double the TV rights and get NFL to $40B. More big number mean more better.
That's insane considering NHL gets like 1% of Premier League viewership
>>151562480>96 teams vs 32Yeah, poopensharten fc isn't doing much vs the big guns but the smallest 64 only need to average $32M per season to cover the gap.
>>151562286American sports were made exclusively for ad revenue, gringos were trained since birth to enjoy watching people standing around waiting for the next play while watching ads There even are some gringos that watch the whole thing just to see a special commercial being televised
I wish football would give fans what they really want and have more than just one break in play, so we could show more adverts on TV broadcasts and therefore have a better sport. What's the fucking point of sports if you aren't trying to make the owners as much money as possible? Increasing ticket prices and encouraging more foreign tourists to attend might help instead of allowing 'muh locals' to get in cheap (less than £100 a ticket), but there's a massive gap that needs to be bridged.
holy fuck the cope and seethe itt is off the charts
The American Government has been using sports as a psyop for decades. The US needs a strong monoculture to motivate and propagandize its citizens. It's why the FTC doesn't care about media monopolies. When the majority of your nation is watch NFL football, The World Series, Marvel, Star Wars, etc., it's a lot easier to get your message into homes.
>>151562286Per capita innit.EPL makes the 2nd most money per matchesIf you were to add in all the european countries so that they're equal to the USA's population then the combined European league is equal or surpass the NFL in revenueThe problem is simply scale

Our Herschel Shekelsteins really need to pull their fingers out. I can't stand seeing those wealth differences in the OP. Enough's enough.
>American here. I've picked Wibbleham Wanders as "my" team. Go Wanderers! Where can I buy merch?
Soon MLS will be able to pay 18 yo kids from here 150k a year and will offer better competition than our league.I'm thinking about those 7/10 players that are the bloodline of our league, that will nver be getting paid even close to that in their medium size interior clubs or neighborhood clubs in Buenos Aires. Basically our shitters and semi decent player will much rather go to play there and be rich by age 23 (Argie standards) and ocasionally play against retiring stars from Europe and NT players from all over the americas and asia.By the timme they mature and become 7,5 players or maybe 8, they are going to be earning >300k or mmore a year paid by some mid table club in the midwest, and "big" clubs here such as Independiente could not afford to pay them or offer a better deal in terms of competition.
