By the way the reason Tilkedrome is a pejorative is because F1 added 10 Tilke tracks and heavily modified some others between 1999 and 2012 that tended to seem like degraded copies of Sepang. It's the same as how NASCAR fans shit on 1.5m speedways for replacing unique tracks with Charlotte and Vegas clones even though Charlotte was a fan favourite itself.Sepang is distinctly different from the previous generation of mid 80s to mid 90s tracks like Jerez, Barcelona, Nurburgring GP, the Hungaroring, etc. because those were all known for prioritizing safety while being compact, twisty tracks, while Sepang was the first new track to be made WIDE AS FUCK with higher speeds and with an emphasis on extremely long, hard braking zones for passing. Motegi got the stop/go design but the overall scale of the track is more in line with the older generation.
