How can we fix baseball so that it ends in a timely manner?

there is nothing to fix
>>
>>151669358
no that shit is kino sorry you are a fake fan
>>
Ties after the 9th get settled by home run derby
>>
>>151669358
It's not the sport for you.
Baseball is the low barrier of entry for ball to bat sports.

Cricket has matches that last literal days.
>>
>>151669465
>Cricket has matches that last literal days.
human beings really are bored huh, no meaning, no substance, make up arbitrary conditions to do arbitrary things, with arbitrary outcomes, within designed parameters, so that everybody can have something to do, for no other reason than to do something.

race needs an apocalypse or religious crusade, or something else to snap em awake.
>>
Oust the commissioner since he keeps rigging it so shitters like the dodgers make the eries
>>
>>151669584
It's called "enjoying life" you miserable faggot. There's enough war and misery in this world as it is.

Multiball
>>
>>151669358
Bring back Nickel Beer Night
>>
>>151669358
in extra innings, each base is worth 1 run except for walks.
single = 1 run, double = 2, triple = 3, HR = 4, SB = 1 run for each base stolen
>>
>>151669358
multiball
>>
>>151669358
If it's tied after 9 innings then end it for the day and start the 10th inning the next day.
>>
>>151669749
Then a strikeout, regular out, double play, throw out, etc should all be points for the pitching team
>>
Players being able to refuse walks could have helped this game. Could add an option in extra inning for players to be able to choose to restart the at-bat instead of going to first. Obviously will never happen since baseball won't even add video umps to fix wrong calls when batting
>>
>>151669772
they already have a game tomorrow
>>
>>151669817
you have to go back
>add video umps to fix wrong calls when batting
starting next season
>Players being able to refuse walks
solves nothing
>could add an option in extra inning for players to be able to choose to restart the at-bat instead of going to first
see above
>>
>>151669864
It solves them walking ohtani every single time which probably extended the game more than anything else
>>
Jays would have won that game if not for umps rigging it immediately for the doyers
>>
>>151669885
they would just pitch around him, seriously you can't be watching sports if this is what you think
>>
>>151669817
Walking is just faster way to throw four balls.

NO SPOILERS
just got home from work and am going to to watch it from the start.
sounds like they had an extra inning.
stoked for that - anything for my Jays to win.

Will pop in after the game to give you my thoughts so I won't read any post 'til then
>>
>>151669864
Also the solution they are implementing is dumb. All they need is an extra ump that literally just watches the broadcast and can clearly see if the ball falls outside of the strike zone and he can flag it for review, instead of introducing a computer system and players having to challenge it
>>
>>151669911
>>151669916
That's why I said they could refuse the walk after 4 balls, so throwing 4 balls on purpose would lead to another at-bat if the batter
>>
>>151669358
sudden death like soccer
>>
>>151669931
ok but that has nothing to do with today's game
>>
>>151669950
you can't refuse a walk the game would just last forever. Refuse walk, walk again, refuse walk, walk again
>>
>>151669985
Then each consecutive walk is another base earned. 2 refused walks = second base and so on
>>
>>151670006
you're giving everything to the batter, should we jut ask him what type of hit he would like and give him that? Hmm today I will like a triple
>>
>>151669930
See you in seven hours
>>
They can use aluminium bats after the 9th
>>
>>151670026
Don't throw unhittable balls and it's not a problem. You can do it three times and no more. Walking a batter because he's too good is pathetic

Tie goes to the home team
>>
>>151670048
That's actually not a bad idea.
>>
>>151670066
no it's not, if you got walked every at bat your OPS would 2.000 which would be twice what ohtani had this season
>>
Make the ball bigger
>>
>>151670066
Got to give your big hitters protection in the line up. Mookie Betts ain't hitting shit. That's why the Blue Jays had no problem walking Ohtani.
>>
I dont know, maybe a salary cap so a team cant have 15 activ4e pitchers on their roster, some of which have been """"""injured"""" the entire season
>>
>>151670084
It's not practical regardless I'm really just trying to find any solution however unrealistic for the strategy blue jays had this game of purposefully dodging Ohtani
>>
>>151670074
it would get pitchers killed in a literal sense.
>>
>>151669358
I liked baseball better before. Infinite pickoff moves. Players like Nomar Garciaparra and Ryan Braun stepping out of the box and adjusting every fucking strap on their equipment from head to toe between pitches. It had way more soul than this pitch clock shit.
>>
>>151670125
The other dodgers need to knock him in if he's on base
>>
>>151670236
You are literally /NOTme/
>>
two batters per inning
>>
>>151669930
are you a midgit
>>
>>151669358
There'll be riots if you min-max it more
Baseball has accepted its status as a niche sports
They should lean even more on the Japanese aspect to get the weeb audience. Only reason I started watching is because it's Japan
>>

>They should lean even more on the Japanese aspect to get the weeb audience.
This. The hololive thing the Dodgers did was a big success
>>
>>151671485
>Only reason I started watching is because it's Japan
same honestly
>>
>>151670125
It's a team sport not a solo sport. Basically anyone that's not a slugger would take a free walk if they could. It's not like other teams don't walk Springer, Vlad or Kirk as the situation demands.
>>
There is nothing wrong with a tie (if it happens in the playoffs just play another game)

But if you really want to add a meme rule then teams must use one less player on the field for every extra inning until the game ends(you can pick which one), it would be more fun that the ghost runner
