There’s needs to be investment into the infrastructure on the islands too, gear for kids and set up some greenskeeper apprenticeships and coaching courses and find some money for national stadiums. This needs to be done at scale everywhere rugby league is played, places like Jamaica and Serbia etc. Also target places where union is strong like South Africa and Argentina
There’s only amateur rugby league in Ireland and Scotland. Wales is a bit different because traditionally some Welsh union players would go play league in England and they’ve tried starting pro clubs in Wales, it doesn’t really work because the junior base is all union so the Welsh players are converts and there’s no generational club support
