If you want to play soccer outside in Canada in November, expect it to be cold and snowy
>>
>>151894156
Only if you are in alberta or the praries. Novmember usually doesnt snow here and it is more in the 0 to 5C range
>>
>>151894204
The fuck, I always expect the first snow to be around the end of October/early November.

I spent 5 years living in Ottawa. Sometimes winter comes early and we get snow in mid november with lots of cold. Other years it is not so bad and just typical autumn stuff

Second half seemed a lot more stable as they got a bull dozer to clear the field.

soccer is just what we call the game in places with our own local kind of football. USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland, southern Africa, etc.
>>
>>151893339

I think euros grossly overestimate how big of a sport soccer is here. The blue jays world series run from last week doubled the last world cup finals in tv ratings here
>>
>>151894678
I prefer the Portuguese Primeira Liga

>>151895124
>>151894073
Well that's their problem then. Not like it's very possible to create support off a league like that organically
>>
>>151902930
It actually is pretty big over here. Also, a Canadian team in the actual World Series isn't really apples to apples to the World Cup final. How about the World Series ratings when the Jays aren't in the final? It's a tiny fraction of the ratings when they are in, it's also significantly lower than the World Cup final ratings wise. How about if the Canadian men's national team hypothetically played in the World Cup final? That would probably even trump the World Series ratings even with the Jays in it.
>>
>>151903860
Canada literally made the semi finals of the Copa America and those games averaged 1.5 million viewers with no game over 2 mil

Blue jays game 7 against the dodgers averaged 10.8 million and Game 7 against Seattle averaged 6.5 million

its not even close dude. Espically when you consider the World cup is a once in a four year event that garners a ton of viewrship from casuals

Copa America isn't the same as the World Cup. Canada vs Belgium in 2022 got 4.9M which was an opening group stage match. How much do you think Canada would get if they made a deep run into the knockout stage? It would be around that 10.8M number, probably even higher depending how far they would go. But again, these are unique outliers, Canada going far into the knockout stage can only happen once every four years, the Jays doing well in the playoffs is more an exception rather than the rule so that doesn't even happen often. Doesn't prove anything really about a sport's popularity. World Cup yes has a lot of casuals watching but the same would be true for the Jays in the World Series considering how much a fair weather sport baseball actually is.

no it didnt. Pic related

>World Cup yes has a lot of casuals watching but the same would be true for the Jays in the World Series considering how much a fair weather sport baseball actually is.

yeah dude because we all just so passionate about soccer here. It is totally a major sport here with lots of history and not ranked 4th/5th in tv viwerships and professinal intrest here

The most uncomfortable thing would be your shoes. They will be soaking wet plus you are in below freezing tempatuers it is very uncomfortable and can freeze your toes

The good thing is that it was snowing a lot but not that cold. When it is very cold any exposed parts like ears and fingers can experince a lot pain because the cold weather cuts off the blood circulation in those areas
>>
>>151893078
i will now watch your league.

If there are any Ottawa NHL fans here:

Please tell me, how does it feel knowing that the Canadian Premier League soccer team is already champion and the Senators still haven't won a Stanley Cup?

Does it really not snow that much in European matches even when they play over the winter while Canada and the US are wrapping up now? They always seem to treat that America vs Costa Rica game in Colorado as such an oddity.
>>
>>151904624
The major european leagues have very differnt climate types. Spain, Italy and Portugal all have med climate types so they are self explanoty along with southern france

but uk, germany ( west) and netherlands have oceanic climate types which means it is super temperate and rains a lot. Think the type of weather in seattle but with even milder summers

East part of germany is the one exception but even then winter there is more aligned with cities like nyc, boston and philly tempatuer wise but without as much snow and without the hot and humid summers

Pretty sure the Russian league played in snow lots of times. But that's some excessive snow in Canada.
