And 48 teams means really pushing the limits of quali formats, you can't shove any additional spots to South America for example since they're already at 6/7 out of 10. The only other option would have been Asia (Europe never gets more than the bare minimum, the entire name of the game is breaking Europe's dominance), but rather play it safe so that the US gets in every time

I'm just saying that it's no secret that these expansions are partially intended to reduce Europe's share. Despite Europe having the highest quality density. It used to be the case with the 32 team format already, but I think the expansion to 48 is overdoing it. Having teams from all continents is good, you don't have to send the very 32 best to the main event. But this does feel kind of unbalanced.
