He should be the face of basketball by now, but he could walk in 99% of american walmarts and go unoticed. What went wrong? Was it destiny? Or theres a timeline where he isnt injured 80% of time?

He'd be a legend if he played for a real team like The Knicks instead of the Smellicans
>>
He doesn't care about excelling at basketball. His body is a time bomb, but it has as much to do with his natural constitution as it does with his laziness and fondness for fast food.
>>
NBA? Big dawgs gotta eat bro

he's fat and lazy

I don't watch basketball but seriously what happened here? He was the most hyped player since Lebron and he was getting international attention in high school and college. I remember the headlines about Obama going to see his games, and how he was going to dominate the game in a way no other player had, and then he just fizzled out into nothing. Is it really just that he couldn't stay skinny, and how does a team allow that to happen? You're investing hundreds of millions into this guy, you'd think you could force him onto a diet, no?

Honestly when he does play, he is as dominant as they made him to be. The problem is, most times he doesnt play at all. He had a legendary 40 point game against Lakers in the play in and that was basically his only memorable game. He was supposed to be a person that could make a team like the Pelicans dream about winning it all, and the weird thing is, he could actually be doing that. Hes not a full time bust and i think this is even worse for the Pelicans, because if he played badly they would have traded him 4 years ago. Its a bit of a pity really

The employees would surely know the guy who always empties their ice cream aisle.

another career destroyed by shrimps

he's a fatass who doesn't take care of himself so he gets injured constantly, but being a fatass who doesn't take care of himself has made him a recognisable star.

His claim to fame was literally just how quickly he could get obese. Stuffs his face before a game and then his expanding type 2 diabetic feet expanded and exploded his shoe from the inside within an hour
The only thing more baffling than people being surprised at his "career" arc is the fact that he got that second enormous contract
>>
Reminder this guy paid some pornstar 100k a MONTH. He never had the makings of a legend
>>

Im pretty sure a 6'8" obese black guy is gonna get noticed even in America

The best way to prevent adult onset diabetes is muscle mass #fact

I don't know that much about him, but he wouldn't be the first promising athlete who's denied a big career because his body just can't handle the strain all in all. But in his case, it seems like a lack of discipline adds up to it. And your entire playstyle being a walking tank probably makes you more vulnerable as well, throwing all that mass around can backfire on yourself - especially if you're not really serious about your career
No idea if that's the case for him, but with athletes of that size, you always know injuries aren't that far away if they don't really take care
>>
all that hype and the only thing people remember is his shoe splitting because his foot was too fat
>>
>>152288338
You are correct. He never took his fitness seriously except for securing the next contract. Hope it's worth it when you have to pay out child support for multiple pornstars

Sadly, poverty franchises such as the Pelicans have no choice but to give players like Zion the max. Zion knew this and leveraged their desperation into a do-nothing job. He's gonna earn nearly $250 million in salary from the Pelicans for doing basically nothing.
