he never was in the first place
>>
>>152384921
Never has been
No need to hate him, he's a good driver and has his place as a legend secured. But he always had it very lucky and still got dabbed on too often at the end of the day
>>
GOAT of picking the cheat engine in the era of cheat engines. That's it. Probably not even top 3 in most of his title winning years just had the luck of all his rivals being in cars literally +1s slower for most of a decade.
>>
>>152384936
>>152385220
Is there a statistical proof of this, like how the number of titles and wins records are used for proof to claim he's the GOAT? I know Verstappen will probably break these records soon and it will be a moot point, but in the meantime, what's the evidence against him?
>>
>>152390220
He has a lower win percentage than Schumacher, for example. Despite most people agreeing that Hamilton's Mercedes era cars were the most dominant ever
Also, Schumacher has a considerably higher pole-to-win ratio than both Schumacher and Verstappen. Generally, it is said that having more poles and fewer wins means you rely on your car's power more than others
That's the entry level stuff. Honestly, I'm afraid we have to keep it limited to drivers who at least partially spent their career in the 21st century, because F1 has changed so much since the 60s
>>
>>152391812
Äh, sorry. Schumacher and Verstappen have more wins in relation to poles, and that's arguably a sign of better racing craft
>>
>>152384921
Hes the fucking goat

GOAT debates are dumb in general. Especially in F1, where a lot hinges on the car. Some drivers have a bigger influence on the car's development than others, but we can hardly tell. Also, while it's already incredibly hard to compare different eras in every sport, F1 is the peak. The difference between the 60s and the 80s and the 80s and now is gigantic. How the cars look, handle, perform. The tracks. The tactics. The data
Realistically, you can only somewhat speak for generations
In the somewhat modern era, it seems to be between Hamilton and Schumacher. They have seven titles each. Hamilton has more race wins and lead laps, but mostly because F1 seasons are longer now. Considerably longer, like 50%. So you can get more wins with a dominant car. As >>152391812 has said, Hamilton has a lower win percentage, and his pole:win ratio can be used against him.
Titles and points and lead laps obviously aren't everything. Vettel has four WDCs and is top five in every of these stats, but most people would say Alonso is the better driver all in all. You don't even have to be an Alonso fanboy for that
You can spin most stats both ways, and that's before you get to how they came to be. 2000s Schumi was dominant as fuck and had an overpowered car, but 2010s Hamilton had at least as much of a rocketship. And Hamilton arguably spent his entire career in very good cars, moreso than Schumacher, whose Mercedes end (as an old man who shouldn't have come back anyway) and Jordan/Benetton beginnings were more rocky - as were his early Ferrari days. Harder than late 2000s McLaren and then 2010s Mercedes
Hamilton also got defeated by more teammates than Schumacher. Rosberg beat him in 2016 (and he's the only guy to beat both Hamilton and Schumacher, though Schumacher was ancient then), Russell beat him, and now so did Leclerc. In poles and in points
Both are good. Hamilton has the absolute numbers, but if you look closer, it's complicated

>but if you look closer, it's complicated
lol "complicated".
hamilton could exploit an engine formula (the hybrid era) which mercedes deliberately lobbied as the only alternative to the tune of millions of euros and unprecedented political pressure on governing bodies.
schumacher left mercedes in his youth to put benetton and ferrari on the map of the competition, the latter coming from 20+ years of jackshit, all while challenged by sporting regulations devised solely to interrupt his generational set of skills.
in terms of crystal-clear talent there is no debate: one driver was three seconds per lap faster in wet conditions because he was simply otherworldly, while the other constantly needed psychological support, special treatment from FIA and a crane to get him back on track.

(((They))) Do not want a black man to be the GOAT and face of F1. It's like saying a white man should be the GOAT of the NBA, hence the 2021 robbery.

He sure is the GOAT when it comes to triggering incelchuds into autistic rage.

This post is extremely low quality.

How can he NOT be the GOAT? STATISTICALLY the best. He beat everybody.
>>
no GOAT can lose to a team mate over an entire season. imagine Schumacher losing to Barrichello or Irvine over a whole season. Rosberg completely obliterates the idea of it.
>>
We need to slam Hamilton and Verstappen into a tree so we can identify the true GOAT of survival
>>
>>152403331
He also lost one season to Button at McLaren, but funnily enough it is never brought up
>>
He’s the GOAT of making mediocre white men seethe
>>
He visited Namibia when I was there and the locals thought he was an asshole lol.
