It's crazy that a city like Denver with way less than 1 million people can support 4 major sports teams + an MLS team. I don't understand how they have the income to pay for over-priced tickets for 4 different sports with such a low population.
>>152531399Why does the US have a Spanish name state like "Colorado"?
>>152531399Rockies tickets are cheap, only Guatemalan lavaplatos and fags watch soccer. Typically the average Avs fan only buys nugs gear to support the Kronkes. Everybody goes to Broncos games tho
>>152531399>Denver with way less than 1 million peoplethe metro area is 3m according to wiki and the 19th biggest in americaalso they're kind of on an island there in terms of pro sports, big geographical area they cover
>>152531420It used to be a part of Mexico.
>>152531399The Denver metro area it the 19th largest in the country with 3 million people and extremely isolated. You have to use metro area since American cities are partitioned by numerous municipalities.
>>152531399never you mind about Denver, leaf
Colorado Springs is where the actual sports fans live
>>152531439My buddy used to live across the street from Coors Field. Most people who go to Rockies games are only there for the Sky Bar
>>152531469>>15253150419th largest doesn't say much. I doubt many of those people drive in frequently to watch the Avs or Nuggets play.
>>152531420The entire southwest has Spanish names retard
>>152531687They actually probably do, seeing as usually people in the suburbs have money/families and it's only a 20-30 minute drive. Its not like those towns are hours away from Denver
>>152531399It's a rich city
Boston has like 600,000 people in it and it has four of the most recognizable and successful teams in all major sports
>>152533409Boston's metro are ranks 11th.
>>152531399Green Bay has an NFL team in a city of 100k. If you have a large and passionate fanbase, you can have a team anywhere.
>>152533465Ok well Denver’s is 19th.
>>152531399I imagine partially because not only is it the only city in the state with professional sports team, but they basically have the only pro sports teams in the rockies
>>152533907>new mexicomore like old mexico
>>152531399High glowie concentration
>>152533630NFL is different because they only play 8 home games so it's easier to get people all over the state to come to the game.
>>152533630It's only 2 hours drive from Milwaukee and before the Lambeau was build they tried to force the team to move there
>>15253142018+ website, kiddo
>>152531687TV markets matter far more and Denver has much of the inland west all to themselves.
>>152535565Which team does kentucky root for?
>>15253168718+ board zoomie
>>152531399Because the Broncos
>>152535573Mostly the Clots with some Bungles fans. Reds in MLB with some Braves fans too. But the Kentucky Wildcats are the most popular team there, followed by the Louisville Cardinals
>>152531399A fucking rectangle.
>>152535820i know that rectangle from wasteland 3
>>152531420fr trump should rename it
>>152531399Larger than that metro area and huge rural sprawl due to being teams of Rocky Mountain States, same thing that happens with Minnesota and Seattle teams, it's not just the vague "metro area" they also get a lot of fans in places like Wyoming, the Dakotas and Utah. Cities don't make sense, like though San Francisco is the crown jewel and cultural capital of its Metropolitan Area, it's smaller than San Jose in population. Cities like Houston and Los Angeles has huge sprawls of suburban and even rural sprawl while important parts of their "Urban area" are either unincorporated or independent cities. Like even when Los Angeles was doing tourism ads, they included Santa Monica and Universal City which are respectively an independent city and an unincorporated plot of land owned by NBCUniversal So basically the Broncos are a team of not a city, but like 3-5 States.
>>152535702the OJ ones¡?
>>152535702Both the Broncos and the Nuggets were merger teams from the AFL and ABA respectively. The Avalanche meanwhile were originally a WHA team in Quebec City. So 3 of their 4 major sports teams are products of league mergers.
