You can just learn basic Thai. Learn numbers, learn how to sound courteous (hello, thank you, excuse me) and how to order food and ride transit. Thai is a tonal language, so itll be almost impossible for you to learn without having a Thai speaking teacher. If you use the tone wrong, you may say something embarassing.

For example, if you try to say snow in Thai (hì-má) but you say it in the wrong tone, you will accidentally say Horse Pussy (hǐi máa). I learned this the hard way.

There are lots of English speaking Thais here. My Muay Thai teacher doesnt speak English, and I barely speak Thai but we get along great. We often chat via chatgpt.

If you are thinking about coming here to train, just do it. It's a beautiful country full of amazing people. Thai people are wonderful and will be happy to practice English with you. The food is good and the women are gorgeous. Get over here and train.
