America is such a fucking backwards place, you can’t just move sports teams

they even managed ruin college football by sucking the soul out of it for more money
worst of all they see nothing wrong with it

Americans are going to be mad at you for this post, but you're absolutely right. I mean, why do you think college football is much more popular than the NFL? One is more tied to a place and its people, the other is just a brand bought by multi-millionaire Jews.

what were the two NFL teams in each of Kansas City and St. Louis?

Kansas City:
1. Chiefs
2. ???

St. Louis
1. Rams
2. ???
>>
>>152631424
Not placing Kansas City in Kansas seems like a severe oversight.
>>
>>152632119
>>152632183
luckily, both of these issues will be solved by moving the team...2 miles...across one river...in the same metro area
>>
>>152631772
Are you retarded?
>>
>>152631449
FPBP

The more money the owners and the league earn the worse it becomes for fans. Taxpayers don't want to build you a gorillion dollar stadium/shopping center? Move to a richer city. Want to watch your local team on tv? Nah, you need to pay a subscription to see that sir.

I hate it. They don't give a fuck. The NFL cares more about being gay and the superbowl halftime show than they care about the fans. I wish they would make rules that would encourage teams to stay in cities. They will never do that.

Majority and minority owners should, at the very least, live in the same state as the team they own.

This is the equivalent distance of Kansas City Chiefs moving stadiums across the river in the future

Moving from Kansas City MO to Kansas City KS is not even a real move in my book, even though it is a different state. It’s as reasonable as you can be in that situation
But three billion? Three fucking billion? Are they building it out of pure gold?

Wtf
But why?

been to 41 states and so far MO is my least favorite. i liked mississippi more than missouri. people in missouri are the worst breed of holier-than-thou smug ass midwesterners. fuck that entire state. kc barbeque sucks.

>3 Billion
Sometimes I wish my club could throw around this much money with no repercussions. 3 billion, holy fuck. What do they have to build for that price?
But all of this only works because billionaires own these franchises as toys and still suck the taxpayers dry. And because these franchises are optimized to drain fans as pure customers
I‘d love an amazing stadium. But 3 billion? How good does it have to be?
>>
>chiefs move
>royals stay and likely get a new stadium in MO

>>
>>152635498
And it even is a smaller stadium than before!? They build a temple of consumerism with 500000 luxury venues and tons of VIP boxes for a lower capacity, only like 65,000, for three billion?
As if you couldn’t build a REALLY nice stadium of that size for one billion
>>
>>152634619
>people in missouri are the worst breed of holier-than-thou smug ass midwesterners
You've never been to Minnesota, have you?
>>
>>152635595
I've been to Minnesota for hockey trips, people there are friendly, but there's an underlying tone of insincerity in some of them. Lots of liberals and boomers there too.
>>
>>152631752
ironic how the stadium will still be closer to Kansas City, Missouri than the current Cowboys stadium is to Dallas.
>>
>>152634572
Because Kansas is giving up 3 billion in public money and Missouri was only offering 1.5 billion.
>>
>>152631424
So they do this because Kansas offers to shove more (taxpayer) money up the Chiefs‘ ass, right?
How does Kansas profit? Do NFL franchises pay a lot of taxes? The franchise moving its stadium by like 5km means most people already working for the Chiefs will stay in Missouri, but I guess building a Chiefs Disneyland at the new stadium will mean more workforce? The marketing bonus of having the Chiefs around will be minimal, it still is the same agglomeration, and they have Kansas in the name
I‘m sure the Chiefs pay enough taxes for Kansas to profit, but spending a few billion on franchises notorious for wanting taxpayer money whenever they feel like a new project is due … that is an investment, and it’s not like they will have the Chiefs all for themselves
>>
>>152636710
Eh they'll point to jobs created, transactions taxed (food, booze, parking, restaurants, etc), other events it can hold aside from games like huge country concerts
>>
>>152636710
>How does Kansas profit?
The domed stadium is key. That means it can host concerts and other events all year round. They get tax revenue from all those ticket sales, parking, etc.
Additionally, they will develop an "entertainment district" around the stadium for restaurants, shops, and hotels with high property values for even more taxes.
>>
>>152634653
Football was not meant to be played in a dome. Gay as fuck that this is the future for a lot of teams.
>>
doubt they drop the City designation right?
>>
>>152636767
>>152636771
Makes sense, but I thought this money would mostly/overwhelmingly end up in the franchise’s pocket. Assuming they own the entire area and the stadium
Entities like that probably just pay more taxes than I imagine …
>>
>>152631705
I thought KCK was an even bigger shithole that KCMO ???

Except it'll be too big so they won't do that. Unless you're a mega pop star you can't hope to fill out a stadium that size so it'll sit empty most of the year.
>>
goybros we lost... AGAIN
>>
>>152636710
all of these things are scams but I can't imagine Kansas the state can ever have a pro team even at the level of the MLS or the WNBA in one of their actual cities, because they're so small. So if you're some nobody chud podunk state legislator and there's a "once in a lifetime" aspect to it, that probably makes it more appealing

they have been the beneficiaries of decades of governments subsiding car use. governments have spent billions, probably even closer to trillions by now, subsidizing big auto like ford or gm so every other retard can afford to drive a beaten up rustbox through a mcdicks drive thru.

Not really, but the clubs that can afford it are expected to promote it. Like the WNBA is pushed in the US despite no one caring, but more noticeable because WNBA and NBA are different franchises while football clubs here have male and female teams and are expected to treat them equally by the media
Bayern bought this small and decrepit 15,000 seat stadium in the Munich agglomeration for their women because they can’t play in the main stadium (too large) and also not on the training ground stadium (too small)
